• You place a bet on a horse at odds of 12/1 after 9 am on the day of a race. The horse drifts out to 16/1 by the start of the race. If the horse wins, then you’d be paid out at the SP which is 16/1.

Although you may find great odds in the weeks leading up to the Grand National, you won’t get the Best Odds Guaranteed as this offer is only available on the day of the race. You can take your chances on good odds offered by bookmakers before race day, but you might be left frustrated if the odds increase substantially to a higher starting price. If you wait and place your bet on the day of the Grand National, you’ll receive a higher payout if your pick wins. This will either be the starting price or the odds you received when you placed your bet.

Vanillier – Vanillier came second in last year’s Grand National, and it’ll be interesting to see how they cope in the 2024 race. This horse came second to I Am Maximus at a meeting at Fairyhouse in February 2024, although the 14l distance between the winner and second is a slight concern for their owner heading into the 2024 Grand National.

Kitty’s Light – This horse has shortened in price with the majority of betting sites as we edge closer to the Grand National taking place. There always seems to be one horse that shortens in the lead up to the event, and Kitty’s Light is that this year. They finished seventh in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, and will be looking for a much-improved display at the 2024 Grand National.

Noble Yeats won the 2022 Grand National at a sizeable price of 50/1, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can get back to their best with a positive performance in this year’s main event at Aintree.

A win at Compiegne and a second-place finish at Down Royal in March 2024 make for impressive reading for this horse, and it could once again be capable of challenging at the front on the home straight at Aintree.

Foxy Jacks – This horse is priced at 40/1 with bet365 to win the 2024 Grand National, in what could prove a popular bet amongst each-way bettors. Foxy Jacks won at Cheltenham in November 2023 in a sizeable field, and came fourth at Leopardstown in December 2023, so they’re certainly not in the worst run of form.
