What to Expect from Grand National Live Streaming
Some streaming services offer a very short live feed. In some cases, you can watch the Grand National live only from a minute or so before the start of the race. The feed may also end as soon as the race is over.
With others, the Grand National live stream may continue until the official results are called. This is ideal, as it allows you to see for certain whether or not you are due a return!
Streaming will also include full commentary. There are 40 horses in the race, so even the ability to watch the Grand National live may not help you identify your runners. Have a look at the Grand National favourite runners here. Never fear, the feed is taken directly from TV and so will feature a professional commentary.
The 2022 Grand National will be available to watch on TV, with ITV broadcasting the event each year. It can also be found on Sky Channel 103 and Virgin Media Channel 103.
The final timings aren’t set for the 2022 Grand National but keep an eye out closer to Saturday 9th April 2022. We’ll update this page with specific times when the action is available to watch on TV on the day.

You can purchase tickets through The Jockey Club, where you can access different tickets and packages available for the 2022 Grand National. Each option is different, so it’s important to look carefully at what is included. For example, West Tip seats allow ticket holders to access the Festival Zone whereas Princess Royal seats provide access to the Winners’ Enclosure and the Red Rum Garden. These locations are not available to everyone in attendance.
At the pub
Pubs across the UK are likely to be broadcasting the 2022 Grand National through ITV on the day of the main event and this will be a popular way for the public to watch the action with their friends and family.
Certain pubs are going through a booking service, with the Cheshire Cheese being a good example of that, as they’re advertising tickets to book your spot for each day of the meeting at Aintree. Great UK Pubs has listed pubs that are showing the 2022 Grand National.
It’s not a guarantee that your local pub will be broadcasting the 2022 Grand National, so it’s worth checking with them in person beforehand to see if they are or not.
How to watch the Virtual Grand National
The 2022 Virtual Grand National is always popular ahead of the main event on the following day. You can view the Virtual Grand National live on ITV4 at 8 pm on Friday 8th April 2022.
Cloth Cap won the 2021 Virtual Grand National, although that didn’t turn out to be the case in the main event a day later, as Cloth Cap was pulled up, much to the frustration of punters across the UK, who were keen on the favourite winning the 2021 Grand National.
