bet365 are a bookmaking giant, and their high standards have been recognised at the 2023 Bookmaker Awards. They claimed awards such as Best Horse Racing Odds, Best User Experience, and Best Sports Bookmaker. Continuing their dominance, having won all three awards in 2022.

In the Horse Racing Odds category, the best odds were close, and bet365 didn’t have it all their own way. For example, while bet365 odds were industry leading for The Grand National, this wasn’t the case for the Cheltenham Festival, with Ladbrokes performing slightly better. 

Despite Ladbrokes performing well for Cheltenham odds, bet365 failing to hit first spot for horse racing odds was rare. The Bookmaker Awards covered 85 additional race locations, including Punchestown, Chepstow and Epsom. These were monitored over the year and data revealed that bet365 came first in over 70 of the 85 races. Betfair were the next best, challenging bet365 on nine occasions. For example, at Ballinrobe both Betfair and Sky Bet had better odds, while at Ffos Las, Betfair and Paddy Power edged bet365 into third place.

Away from the odds, bet365 also impressed with their welcome offer and won the category at the Bookmaker Awards, beating the likes of Unibet, SBK, and 888sport to top spot. The best horse racing betting app is from bet365, who scored highly in the Best User Experience category at the 2023 UK Bookmaker Awards. The award is broken down into three subcategories and also contains Live Streaming and Ease of Use.

bet365 edged out William Hill and Betway in the Mobile App subcategory and also topped the list for streaming. They missed out on top spot in Ease Of Use with sites such as Sky Bet and Unibet pushing themselves into the top five and 32Red claiming first place.

From our first-hand experience, we’ve found the bet365 app easy to use. We rarely struggle to find what we’re looking for and can always bet on specific horse racing meets with little effort. The only downside, for us, is that to watch a live stream, you’ll need to have made a bet within 24 hours of the race taking place and have funds in your account. This isn’t required on all sites.

Once again, it’s bet365 dominating. They came first in both the Best Sports Bookmaker and Players Choice categories at the UK Bookmaker Awards. Not only did bet365 win multiple awards, but they also performed well in all but one of the other categories, only slipping to 17th place for Customer Service. Competing sites showed a better response time and gained better scores on both Live Chat and Email.

As an overall site, we agree with the awards data and it matches our own experiences using the site. With bet365 winning five out of the ten available awards at the 2023 UK Bookmaker Awards, including Best Horse Racing Odds, it’s unsurprising to hear that they’re the best horse racing betting site.

First off, they have an award-winning welcome offer available to use on horse racing. Subcategories in the Best Welcome Offer award were based on bonus amounts, free bets expiry and minimum odds, among others. And while bet365 doesn’t offer the most in free bets, it did lead the way in other categories as they don’t include an expiry, and match the top betting sites for wagering requirements. 2) Sky Bet

Despite not winning an award, Sky Bet came in third for the overall Best Sports Bookmaker in the 2023 awards. Their cumulative score across all categories helped them climb into third place with a fifth-placed finish in the Best Horse Racing Odds category and a second-place finish in Best User-Experience.

3) Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes came second to bet365 for Best Horse Racing Odds at the UK Bookmaker Awards 2023. And while bet365 topped Ladbrokes for most Horse Racing meets, Ladbrokes showed why they’re ranked so highly with the best odds for the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

They also came within the top three for the Best Banking Options. This category is broken down into two sections, deposit and withdrawal methods. For deposit options, Ladbrokes were one of the best, matched only by Coral. While their withdrawal options saw them finish in the top five, behind Coral, bet365 and Sportingbet. From our experience, one reason for their stellar performance in this category is the Ladbrokes Grid, a brand-specific rewards card that can be used across both online and in-store.

4) Unibet 

Unibet performed well in this year’s Bookmaker awards, finishing in the top five for several awards. Their highest achievement was coming in second for Best Sports Bookmaker and second for Best Welcome Offer. But they’re on this list due to their performance in the Horse Racing Odds category, where they finished fourth.

Despite Unibet struggling to compete with bet365 for Horse Racing odds, they came closer in the User Experience category, finishing third behind the betting giants and Sky Bet. In fact, within the subcategory ‘Ease Of Use’ Unibet beat bet365 and came second, only behind 32Red. Having used the site, we can see why they performed well. Their site is easy to navigate and their app, while not the best, is up there as one of our favourites. 5) William Hill 

Ranking William Hill at number five won’t come as a surprise to many. They may not have won at the 2023 Bookmaker Awards, but they came mighty close. And that’s why they’re listed in our top ten horse racing betting sites.

To begin with, they finished fourth overall in the Best Sports Bookmaker category. For this, points were combined across multiple categories with Coral finishing well in Best Welcome Offer and Banking, where they came fifth and second respectively.
