While best known for its chain of land-based casinos, this GentingBet review focuses on its online sports betting site. This is a popular and trusted operator with years of experience to its name, and the sportsbook is fully licenced and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

Welcome Bonuses – 3.5/5

You can review and claim the current GentingBet welcome offer for the sportsbook in the box above. It’s a straightforward first bet insurance bonus, which breaks from the norm as the majority of UK betting sites offer free bets and matched deposit bonuses.

In terms of customer value, the sports welcome offer isn’t as generous as those found at 888sport, bet365, and William Hill. However, the terms and conditions are relatively standard, and some punters do prefer the safety net that bet insurance bonuses provide.

Furthermore, if you fancy exploring the casino, you can pick up another welcome offer which will boost your bankroll; allowing you to play more of your favourite games. Both of these bonuses are available to new customers; so let’s show you how to get your hands on them.

Note that the casino bonus is only in GBP, while the sportsbook offer is in both Euros and Pounds.

Steps to Get Your GentingBet Sportsbook Welcome Bonus

With all ‘insurance’ bonuses, you only get to collect the offer if you lose. Follow the steps below so that you understand precisely how the GentingBet welcome offer works.

  1. Click the ‘Claim Offer’ button on this page.
  2. Tap ‘Register now’ and complete the sign-up form to create your GentingBet account.
  3. Go to the cashier and make a deposit.
  4. Place a bet on any sport (T&Cs apply – see below).
  5. If your first settled bet loses, your stake is refunded as a free bet.

GentingBet Sportsbook Bonus Terms and Conditions

We highly recommend reading the terms and conditions of all promotional offers. You can then judge the real value of the bonus you’ve chosen, and you know what you need to do to get your hands on it.

As part of this GentingBet review, we picked apart the welcome offer T&Cs; these are the main points to take notice of:

  • New customers only. 18+.
  • First settled bet £/€10 (£10 E/W+) – £/€20 (£20 E/W+)
  • Odds 2.0+
  • The free bet is valid for 7 days.
  • Only winnings from the free bets are returned to your account (stake not included).
  • You can withdraw your own unspent deposit funds at any time.

Betting Markets / Available Sports – 3.5/5

If you’re looking for a wide variety of betting opportunities, you certainly can’t go wrong with GentingBet. This bookmaker offers 30+ sports and a few non-sporting markets like TV and politics as well.

Being a bookie that primarily caters to a European audience, there’s a heavy focus on football. That said, punters also have access to:

  • Horse racing
  • Greyhounds
  • American football,
  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Cricket
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • Mixed martial arts

If that’s not your cup of tea, you can also bet on hurling, motorsports, rugby, pool, boxing, baseball, and the list doesn’t stop there. There is also a horde of esports events that you can wager on.

The market depth for individual matches is good, but not fantastic. For example, Premier League football games serve up around 115 unique markets ranging from match result and BTTS to Asian handicaps and HT/FT. For horse racing punters, the only options are win and EW on most cards, which is slightly disappointing.

However, looking at the sportsbook as a whole, there is ample choice in most areas. With that said, our GentingBet review feels that there’s still plenty of room for growth.

GentingBet Odds – 4/5

Having compared the odds offered at GentingBet against the prices from 15 other UK betting sites, we can confirm they are fair and competitive.

We checked markets from upcoming football matches, horse racing, tennis, NFL, and several others. There is very little difference in most of the margins. You may find slightly better prices on some of the match favourites, but these are countered by GentingBet providing higher odds on the underdogs.

Furthermore, this bookmaker offers daily price boosts, which are usually focused on football matches. It’s worth checking these to see where you can pick up even more value. The odds on the site can be switched between decimal and fractional easily, by simply choosing your preferred format on the sportsbook screen.

Streaming and Live Betting on GentingBet – 3/5

Many punters enjoy the thrill of placing in-game wagers during various events. If that’s a feature that you’re looking for, you’re in luck. GentingBet allows live betting for all of its popular sports.

As is often the way with in-play betting, the market depth varies depending on the sport and the match. For top-flight European football, you can expect 90+ in-play markets, which is impressive. However, you may only find one or two markets for NCAA American football games.

In terms of streaming, GentingBet offers live video on all UK and Ireland horse racing; plus, there are some international races streamed live, too. Unfortunately, this doesn’t stretch to other sports at this current time. It is definitely an area in which GentingBet needs to address if it wants to rub shoulders with the top-tier betting sites in the UK market.

We tested the GentingBet live streaming service on an average WIFI connection and didn’t experience any issues with lag or buffering. However, depending on the quality of your bandwidth, you may experience some minor issues when streaming in high definition.

GentingBet Mobile App: 3/5

The hallmark of any good betting site is having a mobile application available and offering a mobile-optimised website. For our GentingBet review, we evaluated the apps, installation process, usability and features.

Note that there are several Genting apps: GentingBet, GentingBet Casino, and GentingBet Live UK Casino. While it might be a good idea to have separate apps for different sections of the website, it does mean that you need more memory and storage space on your device if you want to use all of them.

Android and iPhone users will be happy to know that GentingBet has native apps available for both operating systems. However, if you’re using any other kind of mobile device, you’ll need to use the GentingBet mobile website. That’s not a bad thing, per se, although there are advantages and disadvantages to both options.

To download the Android .apk file from the website, you need to create an account first. The app can’t be downloaded via Google Play, as Google is extremely strict about letting gambling apps onto its platform. Note that you’ll have to change the security settings on your phone to install the application.

The iOS app is available from Apple’s App Store, where it has mixed reviews with several users reporting bugs and crashes while others stating it’s one of the top betting apps around. This type of divided opinion is a common trend with all gambling apps in our experience.

Graphics / User-Friendliness

The applications take up quite a bit of storage space. However, they look good and work relatively well. There aren’t any significant design differences between the applications. The mobile site also looks good on smaller screens, although some pages might load slower due to data usage.

The GentingBet betting app has most of the same features that you can find on the website, including in-game betting, sports betting markets and bonus offers. There are no mobile-specific bonuses, even though you can make deposits via the application.

You can also use GentingBet live streaming to watch horse racing via the mobile app. Keep in mind, though, that this will use a lot of data.

GentingBet Payment Options – 1.5/5

If you’re looking for a large variety of payment methods, GentingBet isn’t for you. In fact, this bookie offers a total of two payment methods:

  • Debit Cards (Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro)
  • GentingPay / Casino Cashiers

Deposits carry no fees and are instantaneous. The minimum deposit is €/£10 with debit cards, and €/£50 via GentingPay.

Withdrawals with these methods also carry no fees. GentingPay withdrawals are instant, depending on security checks. Processing a transaction to your debit card, however, can take up to seven days, depending on your country.

Interestingly, many reviews list Skrill as a payment method. However, customer support was extremely helpful in confirming that only Debit Cards and GentingPay are currently accepted on the site.

Customer Care – 4/5

If you run into any problems, you can contact GentingBet customer support, which is available via live chat, phone, and email. The fastest way to reach the service team is via the live chat feature through the website.

While the support team is meant to be available 24/7 (except on Christmas Day), there are times when the live chat might not be available. It doesn’t stay down for long, however, and you can leave the services’ team a message with your email address and query. Alternatively, you can email them directly at support@gentingbet.com.

If you’d like to speak to an agent, you can request a callback. Leave your details, and the folks at GentingBet will give you a call.

The one major downside we’ve noticed while doing our GentingBet review is that support is only available in English. This is particularly poor, considering how many non-English speaking countries can access and use the website.

GentingBet Review Our Verdict – 3.4/5

GentingBet has a few strong points, but it needs work on others. First, we’ll cover what we liked about this bookie in our GentingBet review, before touching upon the negatives.

There are several betting markets available, and the addition of specials, political and esports betting is definitely an advantage. We also have to give the customer care team credit for being very helpful and quick to respond – when they’re available, and we were pleased with the competitive odds across the sports we checked.

However, the welcome offer could be a bit more generous, and we would like to see the live streaming service expanded to other sports, not just racing. The biggest disappointment by far is the lack of payment options. With only two methods available, it doesn’t give members a choice.

Overall, this bookie has its strengths and weaknesses. For our GentingBet review, we give this bookmaker a solid 3.4/5 rating.
