Welcome Bonuses – Rating 1/5

At the time of this Marathon Bet Review, the operator doesn’t provide a sports welcome bonus at all for new customers. It does, however, offer a few promotions for both its casino and sportsbook. We’re a bit disappointed as welcome bonuses are a great way for new players to get things started. Let’s take a look at the sports promotions on offer right now at Marathon Bet.

Acca Insurance

This bonus offers a refund of up to £30 for an accumulator bet with one incorrect prediction. To qualify for this promotion, we need to have at least five predictions on our Acca wager. The odds for each selection must also be a minimum of 1.50

As fans of the accumulator bet, Marathon Bet, in our opinion, have deployed a good safety net, giving us more reason to use this profitable betting market.

We’re awarded a free bet for the first ten Acca bets that meet the above criteria. We noticed the free bets usually appear in our accounts within 48 hours. It’s also worth noting that any free bets awarded will expire after seven days.

To claim this bonus, we must first register as a Marathon Bet loyalty club member. If our accumulator bet contains a match that’s called off, the operator no longer considers it part of our wager.

Bore Draw

This exciting promotion allows us a refund of up to £30 for any football match ending in a draw. Most bookmakers offering a similar bonus, but usually provide refunds worth more, and so in our opinion, Marathon Bet is holding back slightly.

Before we can benefit from this promotion, we need to claim it after signing into our account. Any bets placed on the correct score market are eligible for this bonus, except for wagering on a draw.

Credited free bets only apply to the first twenty settled wagers and appear in our account within 48 hours. Again, like the previous promotion, free bets expire after seven days, so make sure you use them.

Superprize

During this Marathon Bet review, we found a Superprize promotion rewarding an extra betting ticket. The ticket is comprised of several questions, awarded to us after placing a bet of at least £10 on any sporting event. To win the reward, we had to answer all the questions correctly.

The ticket required predictions for a certain football match. Rewards came in the form of free bets or simply an amount credited to our account. We saw these awards reflected in our account within 24 hours of the specific football games conclusion.

Although all these promotions create an added chance of winnings, the sports bonuses don’t compare well with other bookmakers. That’s why our Marathon Bet review team feels it falls short and gives them a rating of 1 out of 5.

Betting Markets / Available Sports – 4/5

During our review of Marathon Bet, we found a total of 39 available betting markets. It features the most popular sport types, as well as a good selection of niche categories. We feel a list this size gives sports fans a wide variety, even introducing new markets we’ve never tried.

The most popular sports markets at Marathon Bet are Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Rugby. Each category provides odds on a few leagues, giving us plenty of sports betting options. Our Marathon Bet review team also found betting options for female sports leagues too. This comes as a breath of fresh air, as plenty of other sportsbooks gloss over this section.

When it comes to autosports, the operator provides odds on NASCAR only. This comes as a disappointment as we couldn’t find anything for Formula1 of MotoGP.  Marathon Bet also allows us to participate in both the UFC and Bellator leagues for MMA.

Our Marathon Bet review team also found additional markets like eSports, which is fast becoming a necessity in the betting industry. We thought the added niche markets like Futsal, Darts, Snooker, and Table Tennis made for a welcoming sight too.

Betting markets featured at Marathon Bet include the main markets for any given sport like an outright winner. We also found handicap and half markets for the most popular sporting categories.

Marathon Bet Odds – 4/5

Our Marathon Bet review team was very impressed with the large selection of betting odds on offer. Initially, we’re shown the main outright winner odds on any given sports market. To navigate to the rest of the Marathon Bet odds, we had to click on a particular block. This is the furthest thing from intuitive and could use an update.

Marathon Bet provides a recent history of the team’s or individuals’ performance. This is a fantastic feature that aids our betting decision. We can view the last few games a team has played and the results for each. There is also a head to head matchup giving us a great breakdown of the future possibilities.

One thing our Marathon Bet review team would like to see from the operator is an option to change how we view the Marathon Bet odds.  We could only view the Marathon Bet odds in decimal format, leaving those who prefer American or fractional odds in the dark. One great feature is the convenient betting slip located at the top of our screen.

We compared the Marathon Bet odds to other major bookmakers, to see if the odds on offer were favourable. We looked at a Champions League match, between Juventus and Lyon, to understand the odds at Marathon Bet. Juventus provides odds of 1.50 to win, while Lyon offers odds of 8.0. That means if you wagered £10 on Lyon winning, you’d walk away with £80.

In all fairness, we cant expect the bookie to have longer odds in every possible category. By focusing on the main sporting markets and outright odds, Marathon Bet provides odds on par or sometimes slightly better than other bookmakers. Overall we rate the odds at Marathon Bet a total of 4 out of 5.

Streaming and Live Betting On Marathon Bet – 3/5

Marathon Bet offers its sporting events in a live version too. Our Marathon Bet review team reported a much shorter list of sports markets available on the live feature.

To navigate to the Marathon Bet live streaming section, we had to select the Live tab found at the top of our screens. This was again confusing as there’s also a live casino and live games section. We’re able to use the side navigation bar when viewing all sporting markets. Just click the live tab to switch between the regular sports betting and the Marathon Bet live streaming feature.

Again, we can call up previous match statistics and head to head results to aid in our betting decisions. As an added plus, Marathon Bet provides an animated graphic to follow while the match is underway.

Although the operator provides live betting for a decent number of sports markets, not all support a live streaming option. It focuses only on the most popular matches at any given time. Marathon Bet live streaming is only available to members with a positive account balance.

There’s even a virtual sports section providing more betting opportunities. Marathon Bet live streaming features enough sporting markets to keep any avid bettor entertained for countless hours. It’s worth noting that restrictions apply to live streaming depending on your location. A strong wifi connection is also beneficial for both cost-saving and stability in the feed.

Marathon Bet Mobile App – 3/5

We love the convenience a mobile application can bring to the table. Marathon Bet offers two separate mobile applications, one for its sportsbook and the other for its casino. Here we focus on the mobile sports app in terms of compatibility, user-friendliness, and its main features.

Compatibility

Marathon Bet covers all the bases when it comes to mobile compatibility. Its sportsbook app is available on both Android and iOS devices. Our Marathon Bet review team found downloading the app straightforward and is available on both the play and the app store.

It doesn’t stop there, though. It has also made its sportsbook mobile-friendly, meaning we can access the site on any web browser-enabled device. Marathon Bet mobile is compatible with Chrome, Safari, Opera, and Yandex browsers.

Graphics / user-friendliness

The look and feel of the Marathon Bet mobile app follows a similar design to the desktop version. Navigating through the app isn’t very intuitive, especially to those new on the platform. We only felt comfortable negotiating the mobile platform after spending time on it.

We found the main sections of the Marathon Bet mobile app, condensed into a collapsible menu, to save screen space. Almost all other features are still present on the app, offering the same in-depth look at team statistics.

Features

Another great aspect of the Marathon Bet mobile app is its feature list. Instead of limiting its features like other bookmakers, Marathon Bet provides a mobile platform with all the features we find on the desktop version. In fact, it offers additional features specifically for mobile users.

An example of these additional features is the quick bet option. As the name suggests, it makes placing a wager on any match incredibly simple. All we had to do was tap on the market and enter the amount we wished to stake. The convenient betting slip also made it easy to keep track of active bets.

The Marathon Bet mobile app offers all the sports markets we would find on the desktop version. This comes as a relief to mobile users as they don’t need to worry about missing out. We can also find the five most popular markets on any particular day, making it easy to view the main betting opportunities.

Marathon Bet Payment Options – 4/5

One of the most important aspects of a bookmaker is the payment options it provides. Our Marathon Bet review team found a total of nine payment methods, with each option supporting both deposits and withdrawals. Marathon Bet also offers a plethora of supported currencies, given its enormous player base around the world. Like the registration process, we couldn’t find the UK on its list of countries, yet Pound Sterling is available.

Credit cards like Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro require a minimum deposit of £1. The processing time for deposits on all cards is instantaneous. There also isn’t a commission fee charged. We can withdrawal a minimum of £5 and funds will reflect in our account after three to five days.

Marathon Bet features Skrill, MuchBetter, and Neteller as e-wallet providers. Both require a minimum deposit of £5 as well as an instant processing time. We aren’t charged a fee when depositing or withdrawing using these methods either. It requires a minimum withdrawal limit of £5, and it’s processed within 24 hours.

Virtual cards like AstroPay, ecoPayz, and Paysafecard are also available at Marathon Bet. The minimum deposit amount required is £5 for all virtual cards except AstroPay, which has a minimum of £1. Again, we don’t need to worry about commission fees for these payment methods.

Withdrawals on ecoPayz and Paysafecard require a minimum of £5, while the minimum on AstroPay is £1. Processing times for funds to reflect in your account take up to 24 hours, except AstroPay, which is instant.

Lastly, Marathon Bet allows for Bitcoin as a payment option. This is the only supported cryptocurrency at the time of this Marathon Bet review, and we hope to see more added to the list.

Bitcoin requires a minimum deposit of £5 and an instant processing time. Withdrawals need to be a minimum of £16, meaning Bitcoin has the highest limit of all the payment options. Similar to the majority of payment methods at Marathon Bet, withdrawn funds reflect in your account in under 24 hours.

Customer Care – 4/5

When it comes to customer care, Marathon Bet pulls out all the stops. We can choose between three direct contact methods, namely, a live chat feature, calling, and emailing. The live chat feature is by far the most convenient, providing support within a few minutes.

Marathon Bet lists a British landline on its website. In addition to these support options, there is also a comprehensive FAQ section. We appreciate this feature as it allows us to find most of the basic information needed to answer our questions.

Marathon Bet offers 27 support languages. Select the flag icon on the top right of the screen, and a drop-down menu will present the list of languages available.

Our Verdict – 3/5

To conclude this review of Marathon Bet, we found the operator provides a comprehensive sportsbook with plenty of sports markets to choose from. The odds on offer are generally on par with other major bookmakers. In some cases, Marathon Bet gives slightly better odds, especially for underdog sides.

Marathon Bet falls short when it comes to welcome promotions for its sportsbook, mainly focusing on catering for casino players. We feel this is something that needs to change, given the popularity of sports betting today.

Similarly, the layout and design of Marathon Bet’s sportsbook is very cluttered, and could perhaps do with a modern overhaul. Nevertheless, the bookmaker provides great customer support, regardless of what method we use.

Our Marathon Bet review team decided to give the bookmaker a final rating of three out of five.
