In this Sun Vegas review, we’ll be exploring a UK-based gambling operator. It’s named after the iconic British tabloid, The Sun. Sun Vegas is a branded product from News Group Newspapers.

It’s operated by VF 2011 Limited and licensed by the UK’s Gambling Commission. Online since 2017, Sun Vegas expanded The Sun’s gambling portfolio, adding to Sun Bingo, and the now-shuttered Sun Bets. Next up is our objective Sun Vegas opinion.

Sun Vegas Welcome Bonuses

Virtually all online gambling operators today have some sort of welcome bonus. It’s a fantastic way for operators to draw in new customers and stand out.

While many operators have more than one welcome bonus, our Sun Vegas review found only a single welcome offer.

Casino Welcome Offer

The Sun Vegas casino welcome offer is a 100% deposit-matching bonus. It goes up to £/€300, a relatively competitive bonus cap. Many competitor bonuses max out at a third of that amount, making this a relatively enticing offer.

The minimum deposit is decently low, at £/€10. That means it’s a flexible bonus, which doesn’t require you to commit a large deposit to take advantage of it. That’s a positive for our Sun Vegas opinion.

To qualify for the bonus, customers must reside in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. They must also be over 18 years old and not have made prior deposits. However, the offer does have considerable fine print.

For starters, you can’t withdraw bonus cash under any circumstances. It’s wagering credit, which you must turn over a whopping 50 times before withdrawing any winnings. For example, for a £300 deposit and £300 bonus, you need to wager (£300+£300)x50 = £30,000.

It’s a very steep requirement, particularly compared to the competition. Many other operators have requirements of 10x-20x, which is far easier to clear. Players have 30 days to meet these requirements.

Furthermore, you can only wager bonus winnings in eligible games. These restrictions negatively impacted our Sun Vegas review. The bonus is reasonably generous but can be quite difficult to clear.

It’s also worth noting that Sun Vegas welcome offers are not compatible with certain payment platforms. Specifically, customers making deposits with Skrill or Neteller won’t be eligible for the promotion.

Betting Markets / Available Sports

Sun Vegas doesn’t currently have any sports betting markets, per se. However, there is a dedicated virtual sports section with several available sports. You can find the following sports available in the Sun Vegas Virtual Sports section:

  • Virtual Horses
  • Virtual Football
  • Virtual Motor Racing
  • Virtual Dogs
  • Virtual Marbles
  • Virtual US Football
  • Virtual Basketball
  • Rush Cars GO!
  • Rush Darts Live
  • Rush Football Live

It’s a somewhat limited selection, particularly for sports betting fans. That said, as far as virtual sports go, it’s a rather decent selection. Plus, they’re available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Virtual sports are a far cry from actual sports betting, but they can be entertaining in a pinch. Still, they’re pretty limited markets. Our Sun Vegas opinion as far as betting markets go is accordingly low.

Sun Vegas Odds

Different sports betting operators have different odds. They can vary drastically between various sports, leagues and betting markets. Specific events will draw more or less attention from customers, driving betting lines up or down.

However, our Sun Vegas review found no actual sports betting markets available. Sun Vegas odds for virtual sports are fixed, using random number generators to determine outcomes. This makes Sun Vegas odds completely stable, eliminating both unreasonable odds and value bets.

Generally speaking, playing virtual sports is more like playing a casino game or slot machine than proper sports betting. You’re playing against inherently random odds, rather than real-world events.

Sun Vegas odds offered are mathematically calculated to include a house edge. Moreover, they won’t vary much over time. Individual games will have markets with different Sun Vegas odds, but they’ll always perfectly correspond to implied odds. This negatively impacts our Sun Vegas opinion.

Streaming and Live Betting on Sun Vegas

There are currently no Sun Vegas live streaming options, as the operator has no sports betting section. Players looking for Sun Vegas live streaming matches are out of luck. Nevertheless, there are some opportunities for Live Betting in Sun Vegas.

In the Virtual Sports section, several of the games available offer live betting markets. Keep in mind that you place these “live” bets on completely simulated matches.

These matches do play out in real-time, though, allowing you to bet on live markets. It’s still quite limiting, though, which negatively impacted our Sun Vegas review. The lack of any Sun Vegas live streaming capabilities didn’t help our Sun Vegas opinion either.

Sun Vegas Mobile App

With mobile gambling gaining more traction with players every year, the vast majority of operators are shifting gears towards mobile. Mobile versions are abundant, and mobile apps are increasingly common. However, our Sun Vegas review found no dedicated mobile app.

That was a negative point for our Sun Vegas opinion. That said, Sun Vegas doesn’t leave mobile players without options. The website itself is highly compatible with mobile platforms. You can seamlessly access Sun Vegas from your mobile browser on your phone or tablet.

All casino games, online slots and virtual sports are available to mobile players. The mobile version of Sun Vegas is highly stable and quite reliable. It loads quickly and without a hiccup in both Android and iOS devices. Even Windows Phone devices can access Sun Vegas.

While having no dedicated mobile apps does dock the operator a few points, its mobile compatibility is much appreciated. Mobile-first players will be able to enjoy the full extent of Sun Vegas’ features.

Visually, the mobile version of Sun Vegas has an intuitive layout and is very easy to navigate. Elements are clearly organized, with information being highly visible and well-identified. Menus are helpfully designed, and finding the options you’re looking for is generally effortless.

Furthermore, mobile players get some perks, like increased max wagers on bonus cash. It’s a subtle advantage. However, it makes working through wagering requirements easier. It also helped boost our Sun Vegas opinion somewhat.

Sun Vegas Payment Options

One of the most important elements that determine how convenient gambling operators are for customers is payment. Payment options are the ways in which you can deposit and withdraw funds to and from your account.

The more versatile and abundant the payment options are, the better the score for our Sun Vegas review. Sun Vegas has a handful of different payment options available to users. We’ll list them below.

Sun Vegas Deposit Options

The following payment platforms are available for making deposits in Sun Vegas:

  • VISA/MasterCard: Sun Vegas accepts both credit and debit cards. However, many banks bar cardholders from online casino transactions, so consider an alternative payment platform. Deposit times are instant, and there are no fees.

  • PayPal: PayPal is the preferred deposit method for Sun Vegas. Deposit times are instant, and there are no fees.
  • Skrill/Moneybookers: Skrill is also accepted for making deposits at Sun Vegas. Deposit times are also instantaneous, with no fees.
  • Paysafecard: Another instant option with no fees to speak of. Sun Vegas accepts Paysafe cards for making deposits.

All deposit methods have the same (instant) speed. Notably absent are money wires and bank transfers, though.

Sun Vegas Withdrawal Options

Withdrawal options are a little more limited, which affects our overall Sun Vegas opinion.

  • VISA/MasterCard: Credit and debit card transactions might run into issues with some banks, as stated above. Withdrawals carry no fees. However, requests will be pending up to 3 days, and then spend 4-7 business days being processed by banks.
  • PayPal: Much like for deposits, PayPal is the preferred payment platform for withdrawals at Sun Vegas. There are no transaction fees. The pending period is up to 3 days as well, but bank processing is a lot faster, at one day. It’s the fastest way to get your funds.

Payment options that rely on conventional or online banking are also notably absent.

Conclusion of Sun Vegas Review

All in all, our Sun Vegas review found this operator generally adequate. It’s no sports betting central, with no Sun Vegas live streaming or sportsbook features available. The Virtual Sports section is a poor substitute for actual sports betting action.

The casino itself has a modest game roster, a very limited live casino, and a single welcome offer. The welcome bonus lies behind quite a bit of fine print, requiring massive wagering to clear.

The lack of a mobile app doesn’t hurt Sun Vegas much, though, due to its mobile-friendliness. If you’re looking for a simple, mobile-friendly casino to play some slots, Sun Vegas might fit the bill. Still, you can probably find better options.
