Ahead of the 176th Grand National horse race, we have analysed over 1700 accommodation listings to find out how much are the accommodation prices near the Aintree Racecourse higher during Grand National in comparison to other weeks.
According to the results of the analysis:
- A three-nights stay near the Aintree racecourse (11th – 14th of April 2024) on Booking.com costs on average £2301, which is 660.5% more than the week prior and 500% more than the week after the race.
- A three-nights stay near the Aintree racecourse (11th – 14th of April) on Airbnb costs on average £786, which is 100% more than the week prior and 140% more than the week after the race.
- When Booking.com & Airbnb data are combined together, the average 3-nights Grand National stay costs £912 which is 136% more than the week prior and 176% more than the week after the festival.
When looking only at the night of the Grand National Race (13th of April):
- One night stay on Booking.com costs on average £653, which is 60% more than what it cost last year.
- One night stay on Airbnb costs on average £310, which is 24% less than what it cost last year.
- If Booking.com and Airbnb are combined, one night stay costs £342, which is 5% less than what it cost last year.
When looking at three-nights stay (11th to 14th of April 2024):
- The cheapest option on Booking.com is a room with a shared bathroom and a review score of 1 out of 10, situated 6.5km from the Aintree Racecourse, currently priced at £210.
- The most expensive option on Booking.com is a whole apartment 6.6 km from the Aintree Racecourse, currently priced at over £22,000.
- The cheapest option on Airbnb is a double room 8.3 km from the Aintree Racecourse, currently priced at £107.
- The most expensive option on Airbnb is a whole apartment 0.6 km from the Aintree Racecourse, currently priced at £5,415.
In comparison to our recent Cheltenham Festival accommodation analysis:
- A 4-nights Cheltenham stay (12th of March to 16th of March 2024) on Booking.com cost on average £3,030.41, which was 255% more the week prior and the week after the festival.
- A 4-nights Cheltenham stay on Airbnb cost on average £1,577.86, which was 200% more the week prior and the week after the festival.
- When Booking.com & Airbnb data were combined together, the average 4-nights Cheltenham stay costs £2,304.13 which is 230% more than the week prior and the week after the festival.

Methodology:
- In total, 1716 Airbnb & Booking.com accommodation listings near the Aintree Racecourse were collected for the purpose of the 2024 analysis.
- The dates were pre-set to 11th of April to 14th of April 2024, which was then compared to average prices of 3-nights stays on the same days of the week in the weeks before and after Grand National.
- The accommodation search was pre-set for 2 adults.
