It’s fair to say that it’s not been the move that Mason Mount would have originally hoped for since moving to Manchester United from Chelsea back in 2023. The midfielder was a regular in the Chelsea team, after working his way into the senior setup after loan moves with the likes of Vitesse and Derby County.
But since Mount moved to Old Trafford, his game time has been disrupted with a number of injury problems, as well as not being in favour with former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
However, with Ruben Amorim being appointed as the club’s new manager, it could provide a much-needed fresh start for Mount and some of the other players that were struggling for game time under the previous management regime. Mount made his first Premier League start since August in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of title-chasing Arsenal in midweek, and he would have been pleased to have come through 59 minutes of action unscathed.
MyBettingSites had the opportunity to catch up with former Manchester United defender Paul Parker, who issued his thoughts on Mount, and labelled it as a ‘big time’ for the midfielder to prove his worth in Ruben Amorim’s squad in the coming months.
“The player United bought disappeared from Chelsea so there’s a lot to catch up on. He said what he said about mount to give him a boost. Mason Mount doing well will be based on him making runs because he’s not a ball player.
“Mount has spent more time injured than he has fit. Mount might have to change his game because he hasn’t done enough at United. He hasn’t shown what kind of player he’s going to be for United.
“It’s a big time for Mason Mount and he has to deliver because he wasn’t a necessary signing.”
Mount and his Manchester United team-mates will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend, as they take on Nottingham Forest in their match at Old Trafford, which takes place on Saturday. The Red Devils are priced at 8/13 on bet365 to win against Forest, and bet365 are well worth using if you’re new to this operator, as they’ve got an eye-catching sign-up offer for new customers.
