Our betting expert has three Everton vs Liverpool betting tips for Wednesday’s Premier League match at Goodison Park (kick-off, 19.30pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.

  • Double Chance – Everton or Draw @ 13/8 with bet365
  • Under 2.5 total goals @ 11/10 with bet365
  • Bet Builder – Beto to score or assist and Jordan Pickford to be booked  @ 15/1 with bet365

Reds could hit stumbling block

After being stunned by Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the weekend, Liverpool boss Arne Slot will be eager to see his side get back to winning ways at the first time of asking.

However, wins for the Reds in the Merseyside Derby have not been easy to come by at Goodison Park over recent years.

Everton won the last meeting between these sides at Goodison 2-0 last season, while Liverpool have managed to win just one of their last seven games at the home of the Toffees.

Given their record at Goodison and how their confidence might well have taken a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Championship strugglers Plymouth, Everton in the double chance market offers good value here.

Everton vs Liverpool Tip 1: Double Chance – Everton or Draw @ 13/8 with bet365

A cagey encounter in store

Games between these old rivals at Goodison don’t tend to throw up a deluge of goals and another low-scoring affair can be expected on Wednesday night.

Under 2.5 total goals would have landed in all of the last five Premier League games between these sides at Goodison and Anfield.

At Goodison Park specifically, eight of the last 10 games between these sides ended with under 2.5 total goals being scored and we expect that trend to continue this week.

Beto and Pickford feature in bet builder

Finally looking at a two-fold bet builder for Wednesday’s game and we start with Beto to score or assist on the night. With Everton boss David Moyes dealing with a number of injuries, Beto looks set to be the man to lead the line for the hosts.

Bagging a brace of goals in Everton’s last Premier League game against Leicester City, Beto is impressing under Moyes and could continue his good momentum by scoring or setting up a team-mate in this match. Meanwhile, there’s value to be had looking at Everton keeper Jordan Pickford to be booked to complete this bet builder selection.

If the Toffees are indeed level or even leading the game going into the dying moments, Pickford has a tendency to time-waste.

The England keeper has already picked up six yellow cards in the Premier League this season, with no Everton player having more this season.

With that in mind, Pickford to add another booking to his collection appeals for Wednesday’s showdown on Merseyside.

Ex Liverpool Star Jan Molby Issues Merseyside Derby Prediction

In an exclusive interview with MyBettingSites, former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby labelled the prospect of the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park as ‘special’, and issued his pre-match thoughts ahead of the clash between Everton and Arne Slot’s side.

“It’s a game Everton would love to win at Goodison. They’re going to defend, block, head and kick everything and make the game physical. It will be a great atmosphere but Liverpool are the better team. It will be feisty. It’s the last of those old stadiums so I’ll miss Goodison Park. Tonight will be special.”

Molby went on to issue his thoughts on the Premier League title race, and felt as though his former club have got enough quality to get over the line, particularly with Arsenal’s recent injury problems.

“The Premier League is a two horse race between Liverpool and Arsenal. I can’t see Manchester City finding the energy and level of consistency to win enough games.

“The problem for Arsenal is Saka, Martinelli, Jesus and Havertz are injured. They’ve got a lot of key attacking players missing.

“I think scoring goals comes easier to Liverpool. Even when the games are tied at 0-0 heading to 90 minutes like against Brentford, you still feel they can bring someone off the bench and it’ll happen.

“If Liverpool do beat Everton, it’ll be 9 points with 14 games to go. Liverpool do have some tough away fixtures but I just think they’ve found a way of dealing with difficult fixtures. I think it will be Liverpool’s title.”
