Arteta’s men can take lead to Spain
While Arsenal’s hopes of Premier League glory may have dwindled, Mikel Arteta’s side are still dreaming of what might be in the Champions League this season.
Some of the Gunners’ best performances of the campaign have come in this very competition and their home form in the Champions League continues to be something to marvel at.
Unbeaten in their last 10 home games in this competition, with eight wins and two draws in that time, the Emirates has become a fortress for the Gunners.
Reigning champions Real Madrid have hit a rough patch and go into this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu to lose ground in the La Liga title race.
Given Arsenal’s home record, they look great value to claim the victory on Tuesday night, even if Real get on the scoresheet, as they have done in each of their last four games in all competitions.

Expect Gunners to come out firing
What has made Arsenal so successful at home in the Champions League has been their fast starts to games.
In all of their last 14 home games in the Champions League, the Gunners have found the back of the net at least once in the first half. And in their last two home outings in the Champions League, the hosts were leading the game within the first six minutes.
Arteta will certainly have his side fired up for Tuesday’s game and will look to get after Real in the early exchanges to stop Los Blancos finding their rhythm.
With that in mind, and considering Arsenal’s record of scoring early goals at home in the Champions League, the Gunners to be leading at both the half-time and full-time whistles appeals.

Saka and Mbappe to strike
With goals expected at the Emirates, Bukayo Saka and Kylian Mbappe both getting on the scoresheet catches the eye in a bet builder for this one.
Saka has had his injury issues this season but has made a scoring return from the bench in one of his two recent cameos and is looking set to start on Tuesday. The England international has already scored four Champions League goals this term, one of which was a penalty.
As for Mbappe, the France international has settled brilliantly into his new surroundings at Real this season and has bagged seven goals already in Europe.
Considering their form in this competition this season as well as notable defensive injury absences on both sides, Saka and Mbappe to score on Tuesday night is worth considering.
