The Masters Golf Betting Tips 2025

Updated on

The first Major of the season is upon us this week, with a 95-strong field heading to Augusta National, Georgia, to fight it out for the coveted Green Jacket at the Masters.

World number one Scottie Scheffler claimed the spoils last year for his second success in three years and he is aiming to become the ninth player to win this tournament three times or more.

Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy will be having another crack at completing the Grand Slam and he heads here in solid form, with two PGA Tour wins this year and a tied-fifth finish on his last appearance at the Houston Open.

  • Sepp Straka to win and each-way @ 55/1 with BetVictor
  • Nick Taylor to win and each-way @ 250/1 with Betfred

Garcia in line for second Masters triumph

Sergio Garcia became a Major winner at the 2017 Masters, overcoming Justin Rose in a play-off, and the Spaniard looks capable of challenging for a second Georgia success based on recent form.

The 45-year-old started off the LIV Golf season with a T6 in Riyadh and a T18 in Adelaide before claiming the spoils in Hong Kong last month, his second triumph on the Saudi-backed circuit after his Andalucia victory in July 2024.

Garcia was third in Miami on Sunday, two shots behind champion Marc Leishman, and his statistics of second in driving accuracy, fourth in greens in regulation and T1 in scrambling on the LIV tour make for positive reading ahead of this Augusta test.

Straka to break Major duck

Austrian Sepp Straka enjoyed his best Masters finish on his third appearance last year, finishing tied-12th, and he goes into his fourth Augusta attempt with a win under his belt this year, having landed The American Express in January.

The 31-year-old’s long game has been in fine fettle this season and he ranks sixth in strokes gained tee-to-green, fifth in approach and seventh in total, while he is second in greens in regulation and 15th in driving accuracy.

Straka’s last four starts have produced efforts of T11-T5-T14-T28 and this could be the week he becomes the first player from his country to win a Major.

Taylor to end Canada’s long wait

Mike Weir remains the only male Canadian player to win a Major, and that triumph came at the 2003 Masters, but the country’s long wait for another success could be ended by Nick Taylor.

The 36-year-old landed his fifth PGA Tour title in January at the Sony Open in Hawaii and he has shown some decent form since, going T12 at the American Express and T9 at the Genesis Invitational.

World number 31 Taylor has been razor-sharp on approach, he ranks ninth in strokes gained approach and fourth in greens in regulation, while his position of 13th in driving accuracy shows he is dependable off the tee.

His two previous Masters appearances produced a top-30 finish and a missed cut, but Taylor looks a more rounded player on his third crack and he could make a big splash at huge odds.
