Liverpool heavy favourites to sign Isak, but Newcastle hope to keep him

The reports are suggesting that Isak wants to explore his options and has chosen to miss out on Newcastle’s pre-season tour to Asia. Liverpool have been linked to Isak the whole summer and they then beat Newcastle to the signing of forward Hugo Ekitike. Many thought this would then be the end of the Isak saga, but the player’s decision to want to explore his options and now added more drama to this summer transfer window, leaving Newcastle fans worried about how their squad will look next season.

Newcastle will still try their best to keep him, but it may be hard to do so as Liverpool are spending huge amounts of money this summer to retain the Premier League title and win other competitions they are involved in next season. Isak has also been linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia, but this doesn’t seem likely at this current time. Meanwhile, PSG and Real Madrid are outside favourites to sign the forward, emphasising how good he is.

Arsenal were once linked with the forward, but it looks like this option is off the cards as they are now very close to signing Viktor Gyokeres. Isak has an impressive 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle, so it is no shock to see him linked with some big clubs. Newcastle have somewhat struggled in the transfer window this summer, missing out on big targets, and Isak now willing to leave the club piles on more misery for the Carabao Cup winners.
