Glorious Goodwood Day 5 betting tips
It’s the fifth and final day of Glorious Goodwood on Saturday and the ultra competitive Stewards’ Cup is the feature race on a high-quality seven-race card from the Sussex course, with George Baker’s Get It bidding to repeat last year’s success.

13.20 Goodwood – Candleford
The William Haggas-trained Candleford didn’t need to be at his best to win an uncompetitive Listed race at Beverley early last month, but it was very definitely a step in the right direction for the seven-year-old and he might be capable of upsetting his stablemate and likely favourite, Al Asay in the opening Group 3 Glorious Stakes.
The son of Kingman has won six of his 22 starts, the last three coming in Listed company, but he’s run well in Group races previously, including in this race in 2023 when he travelled best for a long way before fading into third behind Hamish.
A runner-up in the Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton later that year, he’s been lightly raced since and has got little to find on these terms.
He was a long way behind Al Asay in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot on his reappearance, but he ran far better than that bare result suggests that day, heavily eased once weakening. He represents good value.

15.40 Curragh – Aeronautic
Joseph O’Brien has had just three winners in Britain this season, but he’s had a host of horses run extremely well, often in good races, and you can expect Aeronautic to make a bold bid for the Irish trainer in the 1m6f Summer Stakes.
The mount of Colin Keane ran respectably on his seasonal return over an inadequate 1m2f at The Curragh in May, his first run back after being gelded, and he built on that, quite significantly, when fifth of 16 in the Copper Horse Stakes Handicap at Royal Ascot, fading late on after racing keenly.
That was considered a career-best performance from the four-year-old, a Racing Post Rating of 102 surpassing the form he showed when winning at Leopardstown last term. Far from the finished article after only six starts, he ought to be capable of cashing in off his official mark of 96.

14.30 Goodwood – Term Of Endearment
A return to 1m6f will surely benefit Term Of Endearment and she can make it back-to-back wins in the Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes.
Successful last season for Henry De Bromhead at odds of 15/2, she’s yet to win in three starts for William Haggas and has been beaten at short prices the last twice.
However, she’s run very creditably on those occasions, beaten a head by subsequent Lancashire Oaks runner-up, Scenic in the Group 3 Bronte Cup at York and when a non-stayer over 2m in a Listed race at Sandown last month.
She’s the highest rated of the nine runners in Saturday’s renewal and looks to have plenty in her favour, not least her ability to handle all types of ground.
