Premier League 25/26 Relegation Betting Tips
Liverpool will be aiming to retain their title but for those likely to be at the other end of the pecking order, survival is the name of the game. The promoted teams face a tough challenge of not going straight back down, but those who have been comfortable in the division for a couple of seasons will need to make sure they are not too complacent.
We’re taking a look at the relegation scrap and which teams will be the Premier League’s likely basement dwellers.
Bees set for a sting
Brentford were a major success story under the stewardship of Thomas Frank, but losing their manager to London rivals Tottenham could be the beginning of the end of their stay amongst England’s elite.
This will be the fifth successive season that the West London outfit have plied their trade in the top tier, but it will also be their first without the steady hand of Frank at the helm.
The Dane was fairly unheralded when he arrived from Brondby but he helped transform Brentford’s fortunes in spectacular style.
After ending their 74-year wait for a return to the top table, Frank’s superb work continued as he posted 13th, 9th, 16th and 10th-place finishes and claimed some major scalps.
Ivan Toney’s departure last summer didn’t derail the Bees, but the loss of Frank this off-season is accompanied by the departure of vital contributors like Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard and Mark Flekken.
Frank was on the Brentford coaching ticket before he got the top job and the hierarchy have gone the same way now, as set-piece coach Keith Andrews is the new man at the helm.
The former Republic of Ireland midfielder is different to Frank in that he has never previously held a head coach role.
Their first nine games include facing Chelsea, Fulham and West Ham in London derbies as well as Aston Villa, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all coming to the Gtech Community Stadium.
It’s a baptism of fire for Andrews and his squad and the club may find they have plateaued at this level, with regression soon to follow after seeing their figurehead move on.

Clarets defensive reliability to be tested
Burnley emerged from the Championship last season with some scarcely believable stats, namely 30 clean sheets and the concession of just 16 goals in 46 games.
They were built on defensive reliability but transferring that to the Premier League will not be easy. Goalkeeper James Trafford has left Turf Moor to return to Manchester City, while 35-year-old defender Kyle Walker is amongst the new recruits.
Last season’s top scorer Josh Brownhill opted to move on and Burnley have taken some gambles in the transfer market overall.
Manager Scott Parker led them well last season but is cautious in his nature. He was relegated as Fulham boss and lasted only four games in his stint with Bournemouth in the top flight, so this division has difficult memories for him in the dugout.
In each of the last two seasons the three clubs that came up from the Championship have gone straight back down. There are reasons to believe Leeds and Sunderland can buck that trend, but Burnley look less assured.
They face Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City in their first six games and will have hosted both Sunderland and Leeds by mid-October as well.
If things don’t start well, the Clarets could be in for another miserable season in the Premier League’s unforgiving environment.
