Hull KR vs Wigan Betting Tips
Our betting expert has three Hull KR vs Wigan Warriors tips for Saturday’s Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford in Manchester (kick-off 6pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.
- Under 28 total match points @ 1/1
- Under five tries @ 11/10
- Bet Builder – Hull KR +6.5, under 4.5 tries, successful drop goal @ 15/2
Cagey contest expected at Old Trafford
Super League Grand Finals are notoriously tight – mainly due to the Manchester weather – and although the forecast is expecting a dry night at Old Trafford points could still be at a premium in the end-of-season showpiece.
Hull KR’s dust-up with reigning champions Wigan is a rematch of last season’s decider when the Warriors edged to their second successive league title with a 9-2 victory.
Only one try was scored on that occasion and an equally tight encounter looks likely on Saturday.
These two have been the best sides in Super League for the past two seasons, but there has been something of a changing of the guard in recent times after Wigan landed all four trophies available to them last term.
Since then Rovers have taken the Challenge Cup off Matt Peet’s once invincible outfit and the Robins followed it up recently by claiming the League Leaders’ Shield for finishing top of the Super League table after 27 rounds of action in the regular season.
Wigan ended up just two points behind them in second, but KR lost just five matches this season and it is not out of the question that they complete a trophy clean sweep on Saturday evening, despite Wigan being slight favourites for victory.
The Robins overcame Wigan with a 10-6 victory when they last met in round 22, but you write off the Warriors at your peril and this contest could swing either way, so backing a low points total looks the best bet with the mark pitched at 28.
Only four of the last 11 Grand Finals have gone beyond that mark, while each of the last five finals have been settled by margins of just 7, 8, 12, 2 and 4 points.
Old Trafford tries could be hard to find
Just two tries were scored when Hull KR rocked up to Wigan’s Brick Community Stadium and beat the reigning champions 10-6 in round 22 and a similar contest can be expected when these two lock horns once more this weekend.
Wigan boasted the best attack across 27 rounds of the regular season, but they face a KR side who conceded the least amount of points of all 12 teams in Super League this term, so a war of attrition looks to be in the offing once again, and last season’s final looks a good guide as to how things could play out this Saturday.
On that occasion the Warriors ran out 9-2 winners having held a 7-0 lead at half-time, and just four points being scored after the break as Wigan shut up shop.
Just one try was scored that night and that echoed the Grand Final of 2023 when Peet’s side beat Catalans 10-2 in another cagey encounter that also saw only one four-pointer scored.
Little will be given away in this final either, so going low of five tries could also pay off.

KR can hold their own
Hull KR were the best team across 27 rounds of the Super League regular season and they were unbeaten in the Challenge Cup too, so Wigan know they are up against it on Saturday if they are to secure a hat-trick of league titles.
KR beat Wigan 10-6 in round 22 so backing them with a 6.5 start on the handicap looks a good opening leg for a bet builder which should also include under 4.5 tries and a successful drop goal to be scored.
Harry Smith booted over a one-pointer right on the half-time hooter in last season’s final and a drop goal may be needed this week in a tight contest which may not feature more than four tries.
