Spoils set to be shared at the Bridge
It’s now 10 wins in a row for Aston Villa, who are hanging onto the coat tails of the top two, as they prepare to face the team directly below them in the table.
Villa’s great run has moved them seven points clear of Chelsea, who have won just one of their last five league games.
Enzo Maresca’s men have drawn three of those five fixtures, including a 2-2 scoreline at Newcastle last Saturday, with the Blues fighting back from 2-0 down.
Villa have conceded first in their last five away games and if they repeat that this time around, they will find it hard to turn things around again.
The Villains lost 3-0 at the Bridge last season but they had won on their previous two visits and have the confidence to get something out of this trip to the capital.

Fernandez has Villa history
Enzo Fernandez has turned himself into a goalscoring midfielder in the last couple of seasons, with the Argentinian being allowed to push further forward.
The 24-year-old scored nine goals last season, with six of those coming in the Premier League, while Fernandez has already found the net five times this term.
The midfielder scored two of his goals last season against Saturday’s opponents, bagging the second in a 3-0 home win before grabbing the opener in the 2-1 defeat at Villa Park.
Fernandez was dropped to the bench for the draw at Newcastle last weekend and is likely to return to the starting XI for the Villa clash.

England duo out to show their quality
As Thomas Tuchel makes his plans for next summer’s World Cup, pundits are suggesting Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer are battling it out for a place in the England squad.
Rogers has been the man in form of late, with the former Middlesbrough ace scoring four goals in Villa’s last two matches.
The 23-year-old has had 31 shots in the first 17 league games and now faces a team he scored against in the 2023-24 campaign.
Palmer has had an injury-impacted season to date, but has now played in the last three league games and looks to be getting back to match sharpness.
The Premier League stats show Chelsea sit fifth for the number of shots they have had this term with 170 – an average of 10 per game.
In contrast, Villa are 11th – mainly down to a poor start to the season – with 7.94 shots per game to date.
