Bournemouth vs Arsenal Betting Tips
Our betting expert has three Bournemouth vs Arsenal tips for Saturday, January 3 in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium (kick-off, 5.30pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.
- Arsenal-Arsenal half-time/full-time @ 13/10
- Leandro Trossard first goalscorer @ 13/2
- Arsenal to win 3-0 @ 11/1
Gunners can take control early
Arsenal’s players and fans are bursting with confidence after a surprisingly comfortable dismissal of Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday – and that spells bad news for Bournemouth.
Bournemouth have gone 10 games without a victory and they have scored a total of only one goal in their last three home fixtures. It is difficult to imagine the Cherries being able to trouble a visiting defence which has conceded only seven goals on the road in the Premier League this season.
The Gunners have lost only two games in all competitions this season – at Anfield and Villa Park – and there is certainly no disgrace in failing at those grounds. Bournemouth are much more fragile opponents, especially with Antoine Semenyo massively unsettled by a potential move to Manchester City, so expect Arsenal to take charge quickly.
The visitors to be leading at half-time and winning at full-time should arguably be slightly odds-on, so the available 13/10 looks a bargain.
Trossard to open the scoring
The performance of Leandro Trossard against Aston Villa on Tuesday night will have thrilled Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The Belgian led the line superbly, providing a relentless thorn in the side of the Villa defence and deserved more than the one goal he bagged.
Trossard should be given the same role against Bournemouth and seems the most likely first goalscorer. Bukayo Saka has been creating lots of goals for Arsenal this term, but often from wide positions.
The England international has not been popping up in and around the box as much as he did last season.
With Saka becoming more of a provider than somebody who puts the ball in the back of the net, Trossard has taken over as the value option in the Arsenal goalscoring markets.
Gunners to cruise to cosy success
Punters who cover both a 2-0 and 3-0 away victory will probably have a strong chance of collecting a return from the correct-score market.
Arsenal’s defence has been incredible this term and they have kept 16 clean sheets in all competitions. Against a Bournemouth attack which is woefully short of form and confidence, the Gunners will expect to bolster their fine defensive record.
With victory assured, Arsenal would probably take their foot off the gas, conserving energy for future battles, so punters should not expect anything more lavish than a 3-0 success.
It would doubtless be low-key possession football from that position. Punters going for only one correct-score stab should probably opt for 3-0 Arsenal.
