The PGA Tour kicks into action for 2026 on Thursday with the Sony Open in Hawaii at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. Check out our betting tips for the competition, as well as the UK betting sites offering the best each-way places and sign up offers for the event.
Sony Open Each-Way Places & Free Bets
Predictably, Open champion Scottie Scheffler is a short price to end his year on a high with a hat-trick, but such is his dominance that he could still represent some value, while others among the decent field could also make their presence felt. At the moment, the most each-way places that betting sites are offering to payout is four, but that could change, so keep an eye out.
What’s great about these golf competitions is the fact that some betting sites go above and beyond to offer much better each-way places. BOYLE Sports stands out as they offer you 10 each-way places for the Sony Open and they have a sign up offer that gives you £40 in free bets when you register and bet £10.
Coral and Ladbrokes also pay out on 10 places, and their sign up offers are very generous, with you only having to bet £5 to receive free bets with either betting site.

Sony Open in Hawaii golf betting tips
Canada’s Nick Taylor will be there to defend the title he won on the island 12 months ago while Hideki Matsuyama and Russell Henley will be among the former champions looking to get the new year off to a great start by taking it off his hands.
The European charge is set to be led by Ryder Cup star Robert MacIntyre, while last year’s runner-up Nico Echavarria will be hoping to go one better after his playoff loss.
- Outright winner – Russell Henley @ 12/1
- Outright winner – Harry Hall @ 28/1
- Outright winner – Nico Echavarria @ 50/1
Henley deserves his place in the market
The test players are presented with at the Waialae Country Club is one that rewards strong iron play and putting, and that should suit pre-tournament favourite Russell Henley down to the ground.
Any trip to Honolulu brings back great memories for the Georgian as it was at this week’s venue that he won the first of his five PGA Tour titles with a three-shot success in 2013.
He shot three rounds of 63 that week and while that performance was admittedly a while ago, he has taken his play to a different plane and enjoyed an excellent 2025.
Henley had ten top-ten finishes last year as he finished second at the Tour Championship and also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, which was the biggest success of his career.
His tenth in last year’s tournament was a solid showing and he lost to Matsuyama in a playoff in 2022, so this is clearly a venue where he can flourish and that pedigree suggests he can go well again.
- Sony Open Golf Betting Tip 1: Outright winner – Russell Henley @ 12/1
Hall ready to push on from fine 2025
Englishman Harry Hall played well enough in the second half of last year for his name to be mentioned as a potential Ryder Cup debutant, and while that opportunity did not arise, he has some solid form to build upon in the next year.
Hall finished in the top-25 in 12 of his 13 appearances through May to September and the one exception was the 28th he posted at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, so he really was the model of consistency.
That came after he made his breakthrough in the Isco Championship the previous July when he won a five-man playoff and a second PGA Tour title may not be far away.
He has the short-game skills to do well at Waialae and the tenth spot he claimed last year should provide plenty of confidence.
- Sony Open Golf Betting Tip 2: Outright winner – Harry Hall @ 28/1
Echavarria can make up for last year’s disappointment
Nico Echavarria is an interesting price considering he took Nick Taylor all the way to a playoff last year and the Colombian could go one better this time.
He had an excellent week on the greens last year and as one of the strongest putters in the field, he looks to have a good chance on a course where he was 12th in 2022 after finishing with two rounds of 65.
Echavarria can also build upon some strong form since the summer as he was ninth at the Baycurrent Classic, 14th at the World Wide Technology Championship and fourth last time at the RSM Classic last November, so don’t be surprised if he hits the ground running.
- Sony Golf Open Betting Tip 3: Outright winner – Nico Echavarria @ 50/1
