Dubai Desert Classic betting tips
The stars are out in force in Dubai, most notably Rory McIlroy, who is chasing a fifth win at the course where he made his DP World Tour breakthrough as a fresh-faced 19-year-old.
McIlroy, who finished third in the Dubai Invitational won by Nacho Elvira last week, has had 12 consecutive top-ten finishes at this venue. However, he was testing new clubs at Dubai Creek and wasn’t at his sparkling best with his irons.
He still has a huge chance, of course, and the Majlis is tailor-made for his game; it is a typical desert layout that encourages long drivers.
The Northern Irishman is joined in the field by Ryder Cup colleagues Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton – who is defending the title this week – Viktor Hovland, and Shane Lowry, who let a golden chance slip away on Sunday.

Great Dane can take another leap forward
Europe’s big guns dominate the market, but a number of up-and-coming stars are nestled in behind them in the betting, including Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, who looks to have a huge chance of landing this valuable Rolex Series prize.
Neergaard-Petersen locked up a PGA Tour card via the Race to Dubai standings last season, but it’s interesting that he’s made the decision to start the year on the DP World Tour, with a second tilt at the Dubai Desert Classic clearly on his mind.
The Dane’s first appearance at the Majlis resulted in a tenth-place finish behind Hatton 12 months ago. He subsequently finished third in the DP World Tour Championship – also in Dubai – and made his breakthrough at this level in the Australian Open last month.
An above-average driver in terms of both length and accuracy, there was a lot to like about how Neergaard-Petersen played over the weekend at the Dubai Invitational, recovering from a slow start to shoot rounds of 70-68 at a difficult venue.

In-form Hillier should relish Emirates test
It rarely pays to ignore the obvious in this event – shocks have been thin on the ground at Emirates Golf Club over the last decade – and it would come as no surprise if New Zealander Daniel Hillier is able to cash in on a run of superb form.
Always a high-class driver, Hillier has elevated his game over the last few months, finishing in the top 16 in six of his last seven starts, including a final-round 65 to place second in the Dubai Invitational.
The Kiwi demonstrated an affinity for the Majlis Course last year, carding opening rounds of 68 and 65 before finishing runner-up as Hatton overhauled him in the final round.
Full of confidence after a brilliant run of results, he looks poised to add to the British Masters title he claimed at the Belfry in 2023.

LIV raider Reed looks set for a big week
Hatton, David Puig, and Joaquin Niemann form part of a strong LIV Golf challenge, but it is Patrick Reed who is arguably being overlooked in the betting for a tournament where he has excelled in the past.
Reed came out on the wrong side of a Monday duel with McIlroy in 2023, finishing second, while his only other appearance at Emirates Golf Club resulted in a tenth-place finish last year.
The Texan was not at his brilliant best on the greens when finishing 26th at Dubai Creek, but better can be expected with a run under his belt.
