2.20 Musselburgh – Insurrection
Paul Nicholls’ Insurrection will be aiming to come back stronger after finishing third on his seasonal reappearance over this course and distance on New Year’s Day, a run that will have blown away the cobwebs and put him spot-on to reverse form with those who finished ahead of him.
He has already proven his capability for track, having decimated a field by 16 lengths here last February, and his high cruising speed is tailor-made for the unique demands of the Scottish Champion Chase.
Insurrection handles the good-to-soft ground perfectly, and with that crucial recent outing under his belt to sharpen his fitness, a clear round should see him capitalise and land this valuable prize.
