Saturday’s ITV Racing Newbury betting tips
The lucrative William Hill Hurdle (3.20pm) takes centre stage at Newbury on Saturday, serving as the headline of the weekend.

Despite being an 11-year-old, Venetia Williams’ stable star has shown he retains his elite engine this season, most recently finishing a brave second in the Grade 2 Cotswold Chase. In that effort, he conceded 6lb to the winner, Spillane’s Tower, and still managed to finish ahead of high-quality rivals like Grey Dawning. His ability to travel fluently and jump with accuracy makes him particularly dangerous in small-field scenarios, and the flatter track at Newbury should play to his strengths as he looks to dominate from the front or just off the pace.

2.45 Newbury – Lulamba
Nicky Henderson’s Lulamba was nothing short of sensational when dismantling a strong field in the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at Sandown in December, and a reproduction of that form would make him impossible to oppose in the William Hill Game Spirit Chase (2:45pm)
He combines a high cruising speed with really strong jumping, and having already proven his effectiveness on testing ground during his juvenile hurdle campaign, the likely soft conditions hold no fears.
Lulamba is the class act of the field and a clear round should see him book his ticket to the Arkle with another authoritative victory.

3.20 Newbury – Let It Rain
Dan Skelton’s Let It Rain caught the eye when finishing a staying-on third at Ascot in December, a performance that looked like the perfect preparation for a tilt at a major prize like the William Hill Hurdle (3.20).
That effort came off the back of a massive 387-day layoff, and she is entitled to strip much fitter for the run. Crucially, she remains unexposed over hurdles with just a handful of starts under her belt, and her opening handicap mark of 124 looks dangerously lenient for a mare who was a Listed bumper winner in her youth.
She has already proven her ability to handle the heavy ground expected at Newbury, having won on soft and heavy previously, and represents a stable that excels at targeting these valuable premier handicaps. With Harry Skelton in the saddle and the cobwebs blown away, she looks primed to take a huge step forward and land this competitive pot.
