The new NFL 2026 season kicks off this week, and the excitement is building ahead of the first round of fixtures.
The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. This year, neither are seen as favourites to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Instead, the likes of the LA Rams, the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks are being touted as the franchises to go all the way.
Our experts have produced some betting tips for the NFL season, and we can also share how you can get over £400 in free bets to use on the competition.

NFL 2026/27 Betting Tips
The NFL’s 107th season gets underway this week, with 272 games across 18 weeks before the playoffs begin on 16th January and Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium on 14th February. The Los Angeles Rams have opened as favourites to go all the way. Our betting expert has analysed the key stats and trends, so read on for the analysis behind his selections.
- New England Patriots to win AFC East @ 5/4
- Denver Broncos to win Super Bowl LXI @ 20/1
- Joe burrow to win NFL MVP @ 8/1
Expect Patriots to dominate AFC East
New England Patriots released Stefon Diggs earlier in the offseason, but instead of just replacing the receiver, they upgraded their squad by signing Romeo Doubs and A.J Brown.
The Patriots went 14-3 last season and took the AFC’s No.2 seed, while winning AFC East. For a team who have already managed to win their conference before, the odds of 5/4 look too good to turn down.
New England also get extra rest before four separate games. Meanwhile, their rivals Buffalo, who are seen as favourites to win AFC East, have the harder calendar by some distance, which includes two four-day turnarounds and a Christmas Day trip to Denver.

Back Broncos for Super Bowl glory
The Denver Broncos reached the AFC Championship game last year, losing by just a field goal, while they have looked strong across preseason. They beat the Vikings 34-6 and the Falcons 27-7, and while they did lose to the Packers, we think there’s real potential for them to win the Super Bowl.
Denver was one of only two teams to finish top 10 for Expected Points Added per play on both offence and defence, the other being the Super Bowl favourite Rams. This highlights that Denver were among the most efficient offences in the league on a per-play basis, and also among the most efficient defences as well.
Bo Nix is vital to the Broncos being successful, and he looks to have recovered from the broken ankle he suffered last season. Combine this with the fact that Denver have led the NFL in sacks in each of the last two seasons, and we feel like there’s real potential for them to go all the way.

Joe Burrow to set NFL alight
Joe Burrow had injury issues last season, which limited him to eight starts. The Cincinnati Bengals record with and without him last year shows how crucial he is to their success. Five of their six wins came when Burrow was in the lineup, and he only made eight starts due to his injury.
He is now fully fit and we expect him to set the NFL alight this season. The Bengals finally addressed a key issue over the summer. Their defence conceded 492 points last season and they have looked to sort this out by bringing in Dexter Lawrence. They also signed another defensive tackle in Jonathan Allen.
Burrow is among the favourites to lead the league for passing touchdowns, and this, combined with the improvement of the defence gives him a huge chance of winning the MVP this season.
