It’s not always the favourites that win the Grand National, despite the likes of Tiger Roll and Delta Work claiming victory in recent years. There have been horses with sizeable odds that come away with one of the biggest titles in horse racing and the 2024 Grand National could see another big winner.

Below are our Grand National outsider tips for the 2024 event.

Foxy Jacks @ 40/1 with BetMGM

Foxy Jacks came out on top in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase at Cheltenham back in November 2023, and so they’re more than capable of putting on a big performance on the so-called ‘big stage’. This horse hasn’t run since December 2023, and so they’re well-rested, and if they’re anywhere near their best, then it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them mounting a surprise challenge for the win in the 2024 Grand National. At a price of 40/1 with BetMGM, Foxy Jacks is certainly worth a punt.

Mac Tottie @ 66/1 with Paddy Power

Another of our outside tips for Grand National 2024 is Mac Tottie. The horse won at Aintree back in 2022 in the Randox Topham Handicap Chase, as they saw off competition from the likes of Batcio and Annamix to claim victory. So, they’ll be familiar with winning at Aintree, which certainly is helpful heading into an event which is held there. It doesn’t get any bigger than the 2024 Grand National though, and Mac Tottie could potentially rise to the occasion.

At a price of 66/1 with bet365, it’s worth a punt as an each-way bet given this horse’s quality at Aintree in previous years.

Corach Rambler @ 5/1 with bet365

Corach Rambler won the 2023 Grand National, and is unsurprisingly the favourite to win this year’s event. They won with a strong finish last year, and if they can remain in touch with the early frontrunners this year, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them sweeping by on the home straight.

This horse came third in the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup recently, and their owner will hope that they can find their best form at Aintree once again.

Panda Boy @ 11/1 with Betfred

In races with less runners, Panda Boy has found it tough in recent years, but when the field is a large one, they seem to thrive and can produce some of their best racing. Finishing second in a meeting at Leopardstown with 27 runners in December 2023 prove this claim to be correct, and it’ll be interesting to see how strong of a start they can make in the 2024 Grand National.

If they’re anywhere near their best, then they’re one of the few horses that are potentially capable of seeing off the challenge of the likes of Corach Rambler.

Mr Incredible @ 12/1 with Ladbrokes

Mr Incredible unseated their rider when one of the favourites in last year’s Grand National, and their owners will be keen to see a return to form at Aintree. They had a 336-day break after that meeting at Aintree, and came second at Uttoxeter earlier this month, which certainly isn’t the worst return to racing.

This horse has the potential to challenge from the front early on, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can keep that pace up for the majority of the 2024 Grand National. If they can, then you’d imagine it’ll have every chance of proving to be a potentially ‘big price’ winner.

Grand National each-way tips

Each-way betting is becoming increasingly popular amongst punters that are looking to wager funds on the Grand National, with there being relatively large fields heading into the main event at Aintree in April. Noble Yeats @ 20/1 with BetVictor

Noble Yeats shocked the horse racing world in the 2022 Grand National after winning the race, but it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see this horse come out on top once again in this year’s event. Noble Yeats stayed on well in the 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup, and will be well-fancied to challenge for the win in the 2024 Grand National. Corach Rambler will provide this horse with a test, but if the conditions suit, then you’d be foolish to rule out Noble Yeats.

Latenightpass @ 33/1 with Coral

Latenightpass has shown real signs for promise in recent years, and it’s slightly surprising to see them priced at 33/1 with Coral to win the 2024 Grand National. A win at Cheltenham in December 2023 caught the eye for all the right reasons, although there is room for improvement after a fifth-place finish at Haydock earlier this season.
