bet365 Premier League preview
The Premier League continues this weekend, with our preview focusing on the match between Man United and Aston Villa.
Man United vs Aston Villa preview (Sunday 4:30pm)
Man United have the better recent record in this fixture. They won 3-1 at Old Trafford in March and 2-0 in May 2025, and across the last five meetings they have three wins to Villa’s one, with one goalless draw. Villa’s only win in that spell was 2-1 at Villa Park in December.
Matheus Cunha was United’s match-winner against Roma, scoring twice in three minutes before being sent off in stoppage time. That was a Champions League red card, so he is available on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes, who was left on the bench against Bournemouth in late October, scored the penalty that started the comeback. Michael Carrick remains under pressure despite the win, with the Red Devils just one place above the relegation zone.
Unai Emery has rebuilt quickly in the Villa dugout, with six of the side that started last season’s Europa League final win leaving in the summer. Victor Lindelof, who spent eight years at United, is expected to start in Villa’s defence. History favours United, but Villa’s rebuilt side can’t be written off.
