Round One concludes this evening, and there are four top quality fixtures for you to bet on, featuring Luke Humphries, Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price.
Ross Smith kicks off tonight’s action against Kevin Doets, and it’s the Dutchman who is the narrow favourite at 4/5 on BetMGM ahead of the match. He recently reached the last 16 at the European Darts Open, and he also secured his maiden PDC ranking title at Players Championship 13 in May. Gerwyn Price is the heavy favourite in his match as he takes on Martin Schindler. The Welshman is heavily experienced at World Matchplay, but any drop in form and Schindler, who has been playing some great darts this year, will pounce. If Price starts well, then he should find victory easily.
World No. 2 and current World Champion Luke Humphries is also in action as he takes on Cameron Menzies. With Luke Littler already through to round two, Humphries needs to put on a show to let his competition know that he’s going to make it far in Blackpool. Menzies will try his best to make this match as tough as possible with his rapid-fire throw, but Humphries will most likely be too strong for him.
The final fixture of the night sees Danny Noppert face Rob Cross. Cross won World Matchplay in 2019 and reached the final again in 2021, but he hasn’t been at his best in Blackpool over recent years. He thrives on momentum and will likely have the crowd on his side, so he will hope to dominate Noppert early on.
