Ahead of Saturday’s final of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, MyBettingSites.co.uk’s supercomputer analysed 70 years worth of data to find out who might become this year’s winner based on historical stats. 

Typical Eurovision Song Contest winner according to past history

According to the analysis of all the past winners and their characteristics since 1956, the typical winner of Eurovision:

  • is a woman (55.6%)
  • a solo performer (73.2%)
  • singing a pop song (44.4%)
  • singing in English (50%)
  • singing about love & relationships (60.3%)
  • is between 25-27 years old (the average age of the past winners is 26.88 and median is 25).

In 2026, three contestants have 5 of the traits which are typical for a Eurovision winner: 

  1. Delta Goodrem (“Eclipse”) representing Australia is a female solo performer who sings a pop song about love, romance & relationships in English. 
  2. DARA (“Bangaranga”) representing Bulgaria is a female solo performer who sings a pop song in English and she is currently 27 years old. 
  3. Sarah Engels (“Fire”) representing Germany is a female solo performer who sings a pop song about love, romance & relationships in English.

When looking at the 2026 Eurovision contestants’ streaming numbers, updated ahead of the Final, Per Sempre Sì by Sal Da Vinci representing Italy remains the most streamed song on Spotify with 26.5 million streams. Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen (Finland) gained the most streams between 11-15/5 with Liekinheitin gaining 907,240 streams, while SIMÓN (Armenia) saw the biggest percentage increase with Paloma Rumba growing +21.61%.

My System by FELICIA representing Sweden is the second most streamed song on Spotify from this year’s entries with 19.5 million streams, followed by Finland’s Liekinheitin by Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen with 13.4 million streams.

YouTube Views

When looking at the official YouTube music videos of this year’s contestants, JALLA by Antigoni representing Cyprus remains the most viewed YouTube video with 5.9 million views. Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen (Finland) gained the most YouTube views between 11-15/5 with Liekinheitin gaining 616,270 views, while DARA (Bulgaria) saw the biggest percentage increase with Bangaranga growing +35.62%.

Instagram and TikTok Followers

Sarah Engels (Germany) remains the most followed act on Instagram with 1.8 million followers, followed by Delta Goodrem (Australia) with 755K followers and Sal Da Vinci (Italy) with 747K followers. Noam Bettan (Israel) gained the most new Instagram followers between 11-15/5 with 26,388 followers gained, while Daniel Zizka (Czechia) saw the biggest percentage increase at +49.99%.

On TikTok, Sarah Engels (Germany) is once again the most followed act with 736K followers. Sal Da Vinci (Italy) and Antigoni (Cyprus) are the second and third most followed 2026 contestants with 664K and 630K followers respectively. Akylas (Greece) gained the most new TikTok followers between 11-15/5 with 26,382 followers gained, while LAVINA (Serbia) saw the biggest percentage increase at +90.96%.
