Japan vs Sweden Betting Tips & Offers, including £200+ World Cup free bets

There’s a lot on the line as Japan take on Sweden in Group F. Japan have four points, alongside the Netherlands, whilst Sweden have three, so a win for either team could have a big effect on who they face in the knockouts.

Four points should be enough to make it to the next round, but three points may see Sweden miss out, so they will have to be more aggressive than their opponents.

We can share our betting expert’s top tips for this match in Group F, and we can also reveal World Cup offers from some of the UK’s best new betting sites, all in one place.

Japan vs Sweden Betting Tips

Japan and Sweden face off in a decisive final Group F fixture at the AT&T Stadium, kicking off at 12.00am UK time on Friday, 26th June. With a place in the knockout stages on the line for both nations, find out the analysis behind our expert’s selections.

Japan’s Momentum a Deciding Factor

Japan enter this final group game with significant momentum and face a Sweden side that has looked defensively vulnerable. Hajime Moriyasu’s side were dominant in their 4-0 victory over Tunisia, a match where they completely controlled proceedings and restricted their opponents to just two attempts, neither of which were on target.

The quality within the Japanese squad was also evident in their opening match against the Netherlands. Despite falling behind on two separate occasions, they fought back to secure a valuable 2-2 draw. That result against the pre-tournament group favourites means Japan still has a strong chance of finishing top of Group F.

In stark contrast, Sweden were comprehensively beaten 5-1 by the same Dutch side on matchday two. Despite having more attempts, their defensive frailties were exposed, a worrying sign as they prepare to face Japan’s dynamic attack. With just three wins in their last 11 matches, Sweden’s form does not inspire confidence.

End-to-End Action to Inflate Goal Kick Count

Sweden’s tactical approach often results in open, end-to-end matches. While they are not afraid to show attacking intent, they have consistently struggled to keep opponents at bay, a combination that often leads to a high number of goal kicks. This market looks appealing for their clash with Japan.

This selection has been successful in both of Sweden’s group games so far. Their 5-1 win over Tunisia saw a total of 16 goal kicks, and the count was even higher in their defeat to the Netherlands. That match produced 21 goal kicks, with Sweden’s 16 shots forcing 11 from the Dutch, while conceding 11 themselves.

While Japan’s last game against Tunisia saw a lower total of nine, the nature of the opponent was a key factor. A more accurate comparison is their opening fixture against the Netherlands, which finished with 16 goal kicks. A similar attacking impetus is expected from both sides here, which should ensure the goal kick count is high once again.

Goals on the Cards for Both Attacking Units

With qualification permutations on the line, this fixture is set up for an attacking contest. Both teams have delivered goal-friendly games so far in the tournament, and with so much at stake, there is reason to expect both to find the net at least twice.

Japan boasts the second-best conversion rate in the competition, turning 28.57% of their chances into goals. Their clinical nature was on display when scoring twice against the Netherlands, and they will be confident of breaching a Swedish defence that shipped five goals against the same opposition.

Sweden, for their part, possess a significant threat in the final third. Even in their heavy defeat to the Netherlands, Graham Potter’s side registered 16 shots, with eight on target. The partnership of Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres has the individual quality to trouble any defence, making the prospect of both teams scoring multiple goals a strong possibility.
