While the Netherlands are priced as favourites to win their opening match, Japan represent a significant challenge. The data suggests the Oranje are too short in the 1×2 market for this fixture, which brings the draw into play as a value selection.

Van Dijk an Aerial Threat from Set-Pieces
At 34, Virgil van Dijk remains a cornerstone of the Dutch defence, but his contribution from set-pieces provides an interesting angle for a longshot bet. His aerial prowess makes him a prime candidate to score with a header against a compact Japanese defence.

The defender scored six Premier League goals, five of which were headers, and he registered an impressive 0.6 headed shots on goal per 90 minutes.
