PFA Player of the Year odds: Bruno favourite, Arsenal trio on shortlist

Bruno Fernandes is the favourite to be crowned as the PFA’s Player of the Year. The eight-man shortlist was revealed on Thursday afternoon, with the Arsenal trio of Gabriel, Declan Rice and David Raya also in the running after taking The Gunners to the brink of the Premier League title.

Bruno Fernandes began the season around 33/1 to win the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award, but he’d actually drifted to 100/1 by mid-January. Man Utd’s form picked up following the departure of Ruben Amorim though, and the Portuguese now finds himself as the odds-on favourite to be crowned as the winner.

Who are the contenders to be PFA Player of the Year?

The eight players nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award are listed below, alongside the reasons why they’ve been recognised by their fellow professionals.

Bruno Fernandes

It’s been a great season for Bruno Fernandes, who has been involved in 25 goals for Man United in the Premier League. He has been crucial in helping the club finish third in the division and has contributed to over a third of their goals. Without him, there’s no way the club would have qualified for the Champions League.

Declan Rice

If Arsenal manage to win the Premier League, which looks very likely, then Declan Rice will be seen as the key reason for that. Not only has he been great defensively, but he has also chipped in with some really crucial goals and assists for the Gunners over the campaign. Many have even suggested that he could win the Ballon d’Or in 2026.

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has managed to score over 25 goals again in the Premier League this season and has been a terror for opposition defences throughout.

The Norwegian may not come away with the Premier League title, but it’s very likely that he will win the Golden Boot. He also managed to score his 100th goal in the Premier League, managing this great achievement in just 111 matches.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Gabriel has been one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League this season. Arsenal have not been free-scoring this campaign, so they needed to be strong at the back. The Gunners have the most clean sheets in the Premier League, largely due to the Brazilian, who has managed to keep some of the best forwards in the division quiet. 

He has also been effective for Arsenal in attack, scoring three goals and picking up four assists. His strength and quality at attacking set pieces, alongside his world-class defending, should see the club win their first Premier League title in over 20 years.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo has been one of the best attackers in the division whilst playing for Bournemouth and Man City in 2025/26. He has scored 16 goals and picked up four assists, whilst managing to adjust to Pep Guardiola’s tactics with ease, something that not many players can achieve. City have been great in the Premier League since January, and Semenyo is a huge reason for that.

David Raya

David Raya has made some crucial saves for the Gunners over the last month, including the one recently against West Ham, and he could have a huge say in helping Arsenal win the Premier League.

It’s the third season in a row that the Spaniard has won the Golden Glove in the division, and his calmness on the ball has also been key in helping Arsenal dominate possession. It’s rare for a goalkeeper to be nominated for the award, emphasising how good he has been.

Morgan Gibbs-White

Nottingham Forest are in the bottom half of the Premier League, but Gibbs-White is more than worthy of being nominated for the Player of the Season. His form over the year has seen many fans and pundits call for him to be in England’s World Cup. 

This is no shock, with the attacking midfielder scoring 13 goals to help Forest move away from the relegation zone and sit comfortably in the Premier League. With a lot of turbulence this season at the club, Gibbs-White has shown no issues in consistently playing to a high level throughout the season.

Igor Thiago

No one would have predicted Brentford to be in a battle for European football and they also would not have seen Igor Thiago scoring over 20 goals. It’s been a phenomenal season for the Bees attacker, and he will definitely be attracting some big interest over the summer.

Thiago’s form in the Premier League saw him get called up to the Brazil squad for the first time, and he has battled well with Haaland for the Golden Boot all season.
