We’re only a couple of months away from the January transfer window and rumours are starting to heat up. We sat down with renowned transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio who spoke about a possible destination for Gabriel Jesus, who’s been underperforming at Arsenal. Di Marzio also gave us an update on Monaco defender Vanderson, who’s been linked to AC Milan and Napoli.
Serie A a possible destination for Gabriel Jesus
Arsenal have been struggling for the past few weeks and Gabriel Jesus’ underwhelming performances haven’t helped. According to Di Marzio, a host of Serie A clubs are interested in making a deal for the Brazilian forward.
Di Marzio says that it’s not certain if both Milan clubs would move for Jesus but says that if Lautaro Martinez leaves Inter, then Jesus could be an option to replace him.
“I think the Serie A would be perfect for Gabriel Jesus. There are a lot of Brazilian strikers as well, and it would be a good step for him. He needs an Italian club. I don´t know if it will be AC Milan or Inter if Lautaro Martinez leaves the club.
“It could be Napoli as well, but he needs a club like that where the fans will love him so much and where he will be the key player. He needs to be the key player, he doesn’t want to be one of the players, he wants to be the key player.”
Di Marzio then says that interest in Jesus in England is negligible but due to a market for strikers in Italy, the Serie A is a potential destination for Jesus.
“I think he can find a good atmosphere in Italy and a club that will let him play, so he can find back to his best and show what he has shown in the best moments of his career.
“I don’t think he will move to another English club, but there will be a lot of changes in the striker position in Italy. Napoli will get another one, Juventus will get another one, AC Milan will get another one. There is space in Italy for Jesus.”
Vanderson attracting interest from Juventus and Napoli
Monaco defender Vanderson is also rumoured to join a Serie A side and Di Marzio name drops Napoli and Juventus being interested.
He explained that I Partinopei were interested in getting him in the summer but did not proceed as they wanted a more defensively sound full-back.
“Napoli wanted Vanderson in the summer, and they tried, but the request was very high. Monaco wanted €40 million. He is a very attacking fullback, so he needs to work to understand the way to defend in Italy.
“He is on Napoli’s list, also for the future. Napoli never bought a right back, so I think they will come back for him.”
Di Marzio then adds that Juventus is also a possible destination for him, as they only have Andrea Cambiaso. That being said, he feels that Napoli have the upper hand when it comes to bringing in Vanderson.
“Juventus only has Cambiaso in that position, so they also need a player at that position, and he is on their list as well. But Napoli were more keen on getting him, and they will still try to get him.”
