Eurovision Semi-Final 2 Betting Tips and Predictions

Updated on

Our betting expert has three tips for the second 2025 Eurovision Song Contest semi-final, which takes place on Thursday night. Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.

Eurovision Semi-Final 2 Betting Tips

  • Finland to win the 2nd semi-final @ 12/5 with bet365
  • Ireland not to qualify for the final @ 5/6 with Betfair
  • Czechia to win the 2nd semi-final @ 66/1 with Betfred

Erika could star for Finland

Finland has been competing in the Eurovision Song Contest since way back in 1961, but they have only won the title once during that time.

Lordi’s success came in 2006 and this year’s Finnish representative is a long way from the heavy-metal rock of that winning band.

Finland’s 2025 hopes rest on Erika Vikman and her track ‘Ich Komme’, which made number two in the Finnish charts when released earlier this year.

The song, which will be performed in the second half of the second semi-final, is best described as a mixture of disco and electronic music.

It might not have the shock factor of the mask-wearing Lordi, but there has been some controversy surrounding some of the sexualised lyrics.

Speaking on social media in March, Vikman admitted she might have to tone down her performance on stage but the track is still likely to catch the attention of the voters.

The 32-year-old has been touring around Europe in the build-up to help promote her chances, performing in Sweden in March, Italy in April and then appearing on Dutch TV.

Ireland change tact and face elimination

No country has won more Eurovision titles than Ireland, who have taken top spot on no fewer than seven occasions – the same number as Sweden.

It’s almost 30 years since the Emerald Isle’s last success though and they have failed to qualify for the final in four of the last five years.

Ireland did finish sixth last year and moved away from their previous guitar-pop acts, with Bambie Thug and the track ‘Doomsday Blue’ being more electro-metal.

In 2025, Norwegian singer-songwriter Emmy will represent Ireland with what comes across as a wishy-washy Euro dance song called ‘Laika Party’.

The track, which reached 49 in the Irish charts, missed out on being selected as Norway’s representative, but then won Ireland’s jury and televote.

Czechia offer a big price option

Czechia (formerly the Czech Republic) have been Eurovision participants since 2007 and have failed to qualify for the final on seven occasions.

However, hopes are high for a better showing in 2025 thanks to ‘Kiss Kiss Goodbye’ – which will be performed by singer Adonxs.

The selection process for Czechia’s song shows how keen they are to make an impact in Switzerland and that could pay off.

As well as a 10-member international jury, consisting of music professionals and former Eurovision entrants, another jury of 900 members from three countries and a focus group were used to pick the track.

Adonxs, like the Finnish entry, could benefit from performing in the second half of the semi-final, leaving it more fresh in the minds of voters.
