Eagles to dominate Dallas once again
The Philadelphia Eagles established themselves as the top dogs in 2024, winning the Super Bowl at the expense of the Kansas City Chiefs. Nick Sirianni’s team triumphed 40-22 in New Orleans and they will look to defend their crown in California this year.
While former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has left to become head coach at the New Orleans Saints, the Eagles are largely the same team on offense.
Their key personnel all stayed put and that gives them a huge advantage against a team they hammered twice last season. Philadelphia beat their NFC East rivals, Dallas, 34-6 away from home, before recording a 41-7 victory on home soil.
The Cowboys traded star edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last week in a move that only weakens their chances of beating the Eagles.
Philadelphia picked up routine wins in both meetings last season and, with Friday’s game on home turf, it is difficult to see them not winning by more than 10 points.

Pickens can click with Prescott on the road
After three years in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver George Pickens was traded to the Cowboys this summer.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott will be licking his lips at the prospect of playing with two star receivers, as the Cowboys still have CeeDee Lamb in their ranks.
With the Eagles’ defense now having to split their attention between the pair, Prescott may be able to get the best out of Pickens.
Pickens caught 59 passes for 900 receiving yards in 2024, but Prescott should be the best quarterback he has teamed up with.
On seven occasions last year, he finished with over 60 receiving yards in a game and with teams not up to speed in Week 1, he could capitalise.

Eagles duo to make their mark
The Eagles should dominate Friday’s opening encounter of the new season and quarterback Jalen Hurts will lean on star receiver A.J. Brown and running back Saquon Barkley.
Barkley enjoyed a career-best season in 2024, rushing for 2,005 yards in a sublime campaign. The former New York Giants ace rushed 19 times or more in games on 11 occasions in the regular season and he is a true workhorse in the backfield.
The Cowboys have struggled to stop the run in recent years and they were helpless in their last meeting as he enjoyed a whopping 31 carries for 167 yards.
Barkley will look to grind away on the ground, while Brown should have his say in the air. The veteran caught four or more passes in 11 of his appearances last season in the regular season.
Brown caught eight passes from 12 targets against Dallas last season, and he should be a regular target for Jalen Hurts throughout Friday’s battle.
