Grand National outsider tips
It’s not always the favourites that win the Grand National, despite the likes of I Am Maximus, Tiger Roll and Delta Work claiming victory in recent years. There have been horses with sizeable odds that come away with one of the biggest titles in horse racing and the 2025 Grand National could see another big winner.
Below are our Grand National outsider tips for the 2025 event.
Kitty’s Light @ 33/1 with BetMGM
Kitty’s Light raced in the 2024 Grand National and impressed. The 8 year old horse, trained by Christian Williams, finished 5th at Aintree and managed to keep with the leading pack for most of the race. Kitty’s Light form hasn’t been great at this current time; however, when Kitty’s Light hits consistency it is hard to stop them. With 3 1st place finishes in a row in 2023 and 7 wins in total, the horse is definitely an outsider but one others should definitely be worried about in the 2025 Grand National.
- Welcome offer gives new customers more free bets than most
- Profit boosts and free football predictors are part of a host of attractive offers
Macdermott @ 33/1 with Sky Bet
Another of our outside tips for Grand National 2025 is Macdermott. The horse has finished in the top 3 in 5 of their 10 races. Macdermott’s recent form has been great, with the horse winning it’s last 2 races at Ayr and Fairyhouse. Macdermott has never raced at the Grand National, but there is no doubting that it could be an outsider with a chance in 2024.

Grand National 2025 top tips
- I Am Maximus – 16/1
- Corbetts Cross – 20/1
- Minella Cocooner – 25/1
I Am Maximus @ 16/1 with bet365
I Am Maximus won the 2024 Grand National, and is unsurprisingly the favourite to win this year’s event. They won with a strong finish last year, and if they can remain in touch with the early frontrunners this year, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them sweeping by on the home straight.
Their owner will hope that they can find their best form at Aintree once again and currently, I Am Maximus hasn’t raced since their big win, so it will be interesting to see how they fare when they return to racing.
- Multiple BC UK Bookmaker Awards winner, including Best Bookmaker
- Attractive promos, including boosted odds & free games
Corbetts Cross @ 20/1 with Betfred
Corbetts Cross is one of the favourites at this current time and it is easy to see why. In their last 6 races, the horse has finished in the top 3 5 times and 2 of these races have been 1st placed finishes. Corbetts Cross did race at Aintree in 2024, but not in the Grand National. The 7 year old finished 3rd in the William Hill Bowl Chase at Aintree.
- Great Loyalty program
- Range of promotions available
Minella Cocooner @ 25/1 with Ladbrokes
With a 1st place finish in their last race race at Sandown, Minella Cocooner has been on good form, placing in the top 2 in 9 of their 13 races. The 8 year old is looking like a strong contender and a very good favourite for the 2025 Grand National.
- Always outstanding promotions
- Reliable bookmaker for all
Grand National each-way tips
Each-way betting is becoming increasingly popular amongst punters that are looking to wager funds on the Grand National, with there being relatively large fields heading into the main event at Aintree in April. There have also been some big-price horses placing in the Grand National over the years. We’re going to give you an each-way betting tip for the 2024 Grand National, which you can find below.
For a closer look at each-way betting, head over to our dedicated page, where we explain what it is in more detail.
Intense Raffles @ 25/1 with BetVictor
Intense Raffles has managed to place in the top 3 in 9 of their 12 races. The 6 year old has managed to win its last 2 races. With betting sites like BetVictor offering up to 7 places at the 2024 Grand National, we expect the same to happen for the 2025 Grand National. This makes Intense Raffles a really good each-way bet for the 2025 Grand National.
- £30 in free bets is a great welcome offer for football bettors
- BV Loyalty Club and Guaranteed Prize Wheel offer reasons to use the site regularly
Montys Star @ 25/1 with Coral
Montys Star, who is ridden by jockey Rachel Blackmore, definitely has an outside chance to win the 2025 Grand National. The horse has finished 2nd in their last 2 races and finished 1st in the race prior to that at Punchestown. With good finishes at big race courses like Cheltenham, Montys Star is a good each-way punt for the 2025 Grand National.
- Reliable bookmaker for all
- Sizeable range of betting markets

Since 2024, there was a rule change which meant up to 34 runners could race in the Grand National. It used to be a larger number but they reduced it for safety reasons.
