Grand National 2026 Betting Tips, Odds & Favourites

Updated on

The 2026 Grand National takes place on Saturday 11th April 2026 at Aintree and we’ve got our best Grand National betting tips ready to share. We’ll take you through our top suggestions, and reveal some of the favourites available for the race, with some top betting offers to help you maximise your profits through Grand National free bets.

We can also reveal the confirmed 2026 Grand National weights now that they have been revealed.

Grand National tips

The likes of Nick Rockett, I Am Maximus and Tiger Roll have claimed victory in recent years. We still have a while to go until the big race, but the bookies have already provided the ante post odds for Aintree.

Below are our Grand National betting tips for the 2026 event.

Iroko @ 7/1 with Betfred

Another horse tipped to be in the running for the Grand National is Iroko. The horse did feature in last year’s Grand National and raced very well, finishing in fourth place. They were the favourite going into the race, so trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero will be slightly gutted that Iroko didn’t win. Now, Iroko looks to be amongst the favourites again and it will be interesting to see how they fare in their races in the build up to the 2026 Grand National.

I Am Maximus @ 12/1 with BOYLE Sports

No one will be shocked to see I Am Maximus amongst our betting tips and amongst the favourites for the 2026 Grand National. The 9 year old finished second in this race last year and won the Grand National the year prior, so they will definitely be a horse that many punters will look to place their bets on.

I Am Maximus doesn’t need to be in good form to perform well in this race, proven by the fact that the 9-year-old finished eighth out of 10 and pulled up in their two races prior to last year’s Grand National. This is what makes the horse a strong contender for the 2026 Grand National.

Haiti Couleurs @ 14/1 with Ladbrokes

Haiti Couleurs is currently 14/1 at the bookies for the 2026 Grand National, with the 8-year-old placing in their last five races. Haiti Couleurs has won four of these races and these top performances have made the horse the early favourite. It is definitely hard to look past the horse, especially with them finishing first in the Irish Grand National in April 2025.

Grand National Outsider Betting tips

Have a look at some of the outsiders that we fancy for the 2026 Grand National. As we get closer to the race, more horses will be added to this section!

Jagwar @ 33/1 with Unibet

Trained by Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero for owner JP McManus, 7-year-old Jagwar is an Aintree contender who could potentially follow the I Am Maximus blueprint. While he has primarily excelled over 2m 4f, most notably winning the Plate Handicap Chase at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival, his recent narrow defeat in a Premier Handicap in January 2026 saw him finish with such strength that his trainers now believe a major step up in trip is exactly what he needs to unlock his full potential.

Though currently entered in the 2026 Grand National at tempting odds around 50/1 at Unibet, his path likely goes through a title defence at Cheltenham first; however, should the ground come up soft in April, his high-cruising speed and strong jumping make him a dangerous horse for the 2026 Grand National in April.

Favori De Champdou @ 40/1 (E/W) with BetVictor

Gordon Elliott’s Favori De Champdou is a fascinating contender for Aintree. His victory in the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham in January was a huge indicator of his National credentials, proving his adaptability and jumping prowess .

He stays all day, as shown by his win at Leopardstown over Christmas, and arrives in the form of his life. With the stamina in his locker and Elliott’s master handling of Aintree types, he looks massively overpriced at 50/1 to run a big race. What’s even more fascinating is the fact that most other betting sites have the horse at 33/1, so it’s definitely worth taking advantage of the punt with BetVictor.

Why you should look for Grand National Non-Runner No Bet (NRNB) Offers

One thing you definitely need to look out for when betting on the 2026 Grand National are Non-Runner No Bet offers. There are 34 horses taking part in the race at Aintree, and there is the possibility that the horse you bet on ante-post pulls out of the race.

If you place a bet with a betting site offering NRNB, then your stake will be refunded in full if your horse doesn’t run. The likes of bet365, William Hill and Betfred all show these offers.

Grand National Tips FAQs

The current favourite to win the 2026 Grand National is Iroko (7/1). Haiti Couleurs and I Am Maximus are also in the running for the Grand National.

The Grand National will take place on Saturday 11th April 2026. The huge event, which takes place at Aintree every year, will attract fans from across the world.

Since 2024, there was a rule change which meant up to 34 runners could race in the Grand National. It used to be a larger number but they reduced it for safety reasons.

The betting offers, for both new and existing customers, will typically vary depending on what bookmaker you are looking to bet with. ‘Best odds guaranteed’, ‘extra places’ and ‘money back’ specials will all be available. There should also be many bookmakers who run the non-runner-no-bet promotion.

You should look into a few factors when trying to pick a good horse for the Grand National. Age is something you should take into account, with horses aged 8, 9 or 10 being the typical age for a winner of the Grand National. You should also look into their form ahead of the race and see how they have fared in races of similar distance. Another factor you should look into is the weight of horses. Horses who weigh under 11 stones are typically the ones who either win the race or come close to winning.
