The 2025 Grand National takes place on Saturday 5th April 2025 at Aintree and we’ve got our best Grand National outsider and each-way betting tips ready to share. We’ll take you through our top suggestions, outside tips for Grand National 2025, and some betting offers to help you maximise your profits through Grand National free bets.
Grand National outsider tips
It’s not always the favourites that win the Grand National, despite the likes of I Am Maximus and Tiger Roll claiming victory in recent years. There have been horses with sizeable odds that come away with one of the biggest titles in horse racing and the 2025 Grand National could see another big winner.
Below are our Grand National outsider tips for the 2025 event.
Meetingofthewaters @ 20/1 with Unibet
Our first outsider tip for the 2025 Grand National is Meetingofthewaters. The 8-year-old horse owned by Willie Mullins finished seventh in this race last year at 11/1 and at their last Cheltenham visit in 2024, they managed to finish third in the Ultima Handicap Chase.
The horse has been rested ahead of the Grand National and did not take part at Cheltenham in 2025, so they should be at their peak ahead of this race. They are an outsider tip for a reason, but we expect them to challenge the leading pack and be there to capitalise on any mistakes.
- Excellent racing product including BOG
- One of the most attractive sign-up offers
Kandoo Kid @ 25/1 with William Hill
Another of our outsider tips for Grand National 2025 is Kandoo Kid. The horse came third in last year’s Grand National at a price of 10/1, which makes for impressive viewing.
A 232 day break followed, and Kandoo Kid made a winning return with Harry Cobden on board at a price of 8/1 on Newbury. If a similar level is on show at the 2025 Grand National, then it really wouldn’t be at all surprising to see Kandoo Kid near the frontrunners.
- Reliable Bookmaker
- Plenty of promotions accessible
Three Card Brag @ 25/1 with BetMGM
Three Card Brag has made a strong start to this season, and could be a tempting outsider tip for the 2025 Grand National. A seventh-place finish in the Paddy Power Chase in late December was slightly uninspiring, but those doubts were swept aside with some eye-catching recent performances.
The eight-year-old won the QuinnBet Beginners Chase at a price of 3/1, and trainer Gordon Elliott will be quietly confident that he can get the best out of this Grand National outsider, who also came third at Navan last time out.
- Welcome offer gives new customers more free bets than most
- Profit boosts and free football predictors are part of a host of attractive offers
Grand National 2025 Top Tips
- Intense Raffles – 6/1
- I Am Maximus – 9/1
- Stumptown – 9/1
Intense Raffles @ 6/1 with LiveScore Bet
Intense Raffles has emerged as the favourite to win the 2025 Grand National, and you can get a price of 6/1 on LiveScore Bet for this horse to win this year’s big race at Aintree.
Intense Raffles won the Irish Grand National last year, and is more than capable of winning the 2025 Grand National if anywhere near that sort of level in this year’s event. They’ve not quite been at their best this season with two disappointing finishes at Navan, but a second-place finish at Fairyhouse last time out catches the eye for all the right reasons.
- Well Displayed Site
- Great Squads Game
I Am Maximus @ 9/1 with bet365
I Am Maximus won the 2024 Grand National, and is unsurprisingly the favourite to win this year’s event. They won with a strong finish last year, and if they can remain in touch with the early frontrunners this year, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them sweeping by on the home straight.
Their owner will hope that they can find their best form at Aintree once again and currently, I Am Maximus hasn’t raced since their big win, so it will be interesting to see how they fare when they return to racing.
- Multiple BC UK Bookmaker Awards winner, including Best Bookmaker
- Attractive promos, including boosted odds & free games
Stumptown @ 9/1 with Sky Bet
Stumptown won the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2025 and have won their last four races in a row, so they are in great form ahead of this race.
This horse has more experience nowadays, and with good showings this year, we simply can’t get away from the 9/1 price on Sky Bet that is available for punters to back Stumptown to win the 2025 Grand National.
- Sky Bet Club offers weekly horse racing free bets
- Second for Best User Experience at UK Bookmaker Awards
Grand National each-way tips
Each-way betting is becoming increasingly popular amongst punters that are looking to wager funds on the Grand National, with there being relatively large fields heading into the main event at Aintree in April. There have also been some big-price horses placing in the Grand National over the years. We’re going to give you an each-way betting tip for the 2025 Grand National, which you can find below.
For a closer look at each-way betting, head over to our dedicated page, where we explain what it is in more detail.
Hewick @ 25/1 with Paddy Power
John Joseph Hanlon is now training Hewick, and they made a great start with a win at Thurles earlier this month at a price of 11/8 ahead of Asterion Forlonge. Hewick is an experienced horse in big races, and at a price of 25/1 with Paddy Power, it’s a worthwhile punt each-way ahead of the 2025 Grand National.
- Power Prices, Wonder Wheel & Acca Insurance among a range of top offers
- Innovative Super Sub offer means bets roll over to the player coming on
L’Homme Presse @ 50/1 with BetVictor
L’Homme Presse doesn’t need much of an introduction, and is a more than worthy gamble at a small stake at a price of 50/1 to win the 2025 Grand National. This horse came fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at last year’s Cheltenham Festival, and is one of the more experienced horses in the field at the 2025 Grand National.
L’Homme Presse beat Stage Star at Cheltenham earlier this year, and if the ground is heavier by the time the 2025 Grand National comes round, then it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see this price shorten. If L’Homme Presse can stick with the frontrunners early on, then it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see this horse being in and around the places here.

Grand National Tips FAQs
The current favourite to win the 2025 Grand National is Intense Raffles (7/1). Iroko and I Am Maximus are close contenders to be favourites for this year’s Grand National, which isn’t too surprising given that I Am Maximus won last year’s Grand National.
The 2025 Grand National will take place on Saturday 5th April 2025. The huge event, which takes place at Aintree every year, will attract fans from across the world.
Since 2024, there was a rule change which meant up to 34 runners could race in the Grand National. It used to be a larger number but they reduced it for safety reasons.
The betting offers, for both new and existing customers, will typically vary depending on what bookmaker you are looking to bet with. ‘Best odds guaranteed’, ‘extra places’ and ‘money back’ specials will all be available. There should also be many bookmakers who run the non-runner-no-bet promotion.
The current favourite for the 2025 Grand National is Intense Raffles, but others being tipped include last year’s winner, I Am Maximus and Stumptown, who won the Cross Country Chase at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.
You should look into a few factors when trying to pick a good horse for the Grand National. Age is something you should take into account, with horses aged 8, 9 or 10 being the typical age for a winner of the Grand National. You should also look into their form ahead of the race and see how they have fared in races of similar distance. Another factor you should look into is the weight of horses. Horses who weigh under 11 stones are typically the ones who either win the race or come close to winning.
