Aston Villa vs Man City Betting Tips
Our betting expert has three Aston Villa vs Man City tips for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League match at Villa Park (kick-off, 2pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.

- Draw HT / Man City FT @ 4/1
- Bet Builder – Erling Haaland to Score, Lucas Digne to be Booked, Morgan Rogers 1+ Shots @ 7/1
Emery will have a City plan
After a poor start to the season, Aston Villa have started to find their feet and three consecutive league wins have moved them up to 11th.
Although Villa are not flowing fully from an attacking perspective, they have been more secure defensively and Unai Emery will have a plan to cope with their opponents.
Man City are unbeaten in five in the Premier League, with four wins and a draw moving them to within three points of leaders Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s men are moving in the right direction, but there is still plenty of work to do to get back to where they were two seasons ago.
Another absence for Rodri is a setback for City and Villa are likely to try and keep things tight and frustrate the visitors for long periods.
It’s worth noting that in the last three meetings at Villa Park, two of those have seen less than 2.5 goals, with Villa winning two and the other was a 1-1 draw.

Cagey 1st half expected
Two of the last three Man City Premier League games – against Burnley and Everton – have been level at the break.
The other fixture was only 0-1 at Brentford and that’s the way the clash at the Gtech Community Stadium, which also came after a European week.
Five of Villa’s eight league fixtures have also been level at the break and of the 10 goals scored at Villa Park, six of those have come in the second half.
Of the six goals scored in this fixture in the last three seasons, five have been scored after half-time including two in Villa’s 2-1 success last term.

Digne faces a defensive test
It’s hard to make a case for anyone else other than Erling Haaland to find the net for the visitors, considering his 11 goals in eight league games.
The Norwegian, who leads the Premier League goal charts, has one goal against Villa since joining City – which came at Villa Park in the 1-1 draw in September 2022.
One key factor in Haaland’s run this season has been City’s wide players and Savinho has two assists to his name in the last two games.
The Brazilian looks set to come up against Villa’s left-back Lucas Digne, who has already picked up two yellow cards in the league this season.
Villa’s main attacking threat in the last month has been Morgan Rogers, who scored his first league goal of the season in the win at Tottenham.
