Lions to clinch the series
It is so far so good for the British and Irish Lions, who haven’t lost a game since arriving Down Under and who look set to wrap up the series with a game to spare at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
A defeat to Argentina before jetting over for Australia was a shock to the system, but there has been plenty of time for the team to gel since that loss and they managed to edge the first Test 27-19 at Lang Park.
Leading 17-5 at half-time, the Lions were presented with more of a challenge in the second period as Australia came back into the contest and made the scoreline look more respectable.
The Wallabies hadn’t played much in the lead-up to that contest and their performance in the opening 40 minutes was reminiscent of that, but the second period was much more positive and they will be eager to be more competitive on Saturday.
However, while the hosts may keep the score respectable again, they don’t have the same strength in depth that the Lions do and Andy Farrell’s side look capable of winning this match by 1-12 points.
The Lions were made to work hard for a 24-19 victory over the First Nations & Pasifica XV on Tuesday and they should expect a similar battle in the second Test.

Aki can make his mark
Ireland’s Bundee Aki came off the bench in the first Test but he has been handed a start for this contest at the MCG, partnering Scotland’s Huw Jones in what looks like a powerful centre combination.
The 35-year-old packs plenty of power and he is a real handful to deal with, evidenced by the try he scored in the defeat to Argentina at the beginning of the Lions campaign.
Aki is yet to cross the whitewash in his Test career for the Lions, but that could change on Saturday given scoring opportunities are expected with fly-half Finn Russell pulling the strings.

McReight and Jones to play starring roles
As previously mentioned, Jones will be playing alongside Aki in the centres and the Scottish star also looks capable of opening his Lions account.
The 31-year-old has a deadly combination of pace and power, making him extremely difficult to bring down and he impressed in the first Test when making 65 metres and one clean break.
Completing this bet builder is for Fraser McReight to touch down for Australia, something he managed to do against Fiji at the start of this month.
The 26-year-old, who will be starting at openside flanker, made 12 carries in the first Test, leaving only team-mate Nick Frost ahead of him in that department.
McReight is set to be heavily involved and he may be able to bundle his way over the line if given the chance.
