Brilliant Bayern to edge thriller
The first Der Klassiker of the season promises to be a thriller, with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund already occupying the Bundesliga’s top two spots.
Dortmund have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, going unbeaten across nine matches in all competitions, but they are still a world away from the level of Bayern, who have scored a mammoth 38 goals while winning all 10 of their games.
The Bavarians have been utterly ruthless, with their front four of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz and Serge Gnabry combining for 22 Bundesliga goals in six games.
Keeping things tight hasn’t been Bayern’s forte, with just five clean sheets in their last eight games, but Vincent Kompany won’t care one bit with his forwards in such frightening form.
Dortmund, led by last season’s Champions League joint-top scorer Serhou Guirassy, should have enough to find the net on Saturday, but the Bavarians seemingly never-ending firepower is likely to propel the hosts to an 11th straight victory.

Klassiker debutant Diaz looks dangerous
Understandably, Kane has stolen the show with his 11 league goals but that has led to a lack of praise for Bayern’s other excellent forwards – most notably Diaz, who has made the transition from Premier League to Bundesliga seamlessly.
The Colombian has scored five goals and provided four assists in just five Bundesliga appearances and he is only getting better, netting twice in Bayern’s last match, a 3-0 win over a talented Frankfurt side.
Diaz found the net again while away with Colombia last week and he looks likely to add to his growing tally against a Dortmund defence which shipped seven goals across away draws at Juventus and St Pauli.

Bensebaini to be kept busy by buoyant Bavarians
Unfortunately for Dortmund, Diaz will not be the hosts’ only threat down the left, nor will he be the only dangerous winger donning the famous Bayern red.
Diaz has been brilliantly complemented by Konrad Laimer on the left flank this term, with the full-back enjoying an excellent season. The Austrian is averaging a shot on target every 125 minutes in the Bundesliga this term and, having scored twice in his last five matches for club and country, is expected to have a big impact.
On the other flank, BVB’s Ramy Bensebaini looks set for a tough evening. Gnabry and Olise work in tandem down Bayern’s right and the quick feet of the pair will draw plenty of fouls from the Algerian, who has averaged two a game this term.
Olise in particular will cause him all sorts of trouble and he is fancied to have a big say on proceedings. The French star has scored five goals and provided four assists in his last nine Bayern appearances and should add to at least one of those tallies against Dortmund.
