Our bet of the day comes from Saturday’s Championship encounter between Oxford United and Coventry City at the Kassam Stadium (12.30 pm kick-off, 01/03/25). We are backing the visitors to claim all three points.
Bet of the the Day
Frank Lampard has turned Coventry’s fortunes around since being appointed manager at the end of November, taking the club from 17th in the table up to seventh.
The Sky Blues are just a point behind both West Brom (fifth) and Blackburn (sixth) heading into this latest round of fixtures and a fourth successive win when they visit Oxford on Saturday could see them move into the play-off positions.
City have racked up wins over QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston heading into this trip to the Kassam Stadium, while they have won seven of their last eight in the league. Lampard has made Coventry one of the most in-form teams in the division. They only have two losses in their last 10 games; one was against league leaders Leeds and the other was against Premier League side Ipswich Town, so these were matches that they would have been expecting to find tough.
Lampard’s troops are playing with great confidence and they should have enough to get the better of an Oxford side that are winless in six fixtures. Oxford United currently sit 18th in the division and they are only eight points away from the relegation zone. If they continue their poor form, then they could easily slip into the bottom three.
They haven’t won a match since the 21st of January, and this will no doubt add to their nerves ahead of this fixture. Coventry also won the reverse fixture 3-2 back in August 2024.
The U’s have failed to score in their last four assignments, losing three and drawing one of those, and they could be in for another long afternoon at home.
