Newcastle United’s away form in continental competition has been far less reliable. While they occupy seventh place, which is level on points with PSG, their success has been built largely on their home dominance at St James’ Park. On their travels, the Magpies have struggled for consistency, securing only one win from their three away trips in the league phase so far, including a defeat in against Marseille.
Newcastle are likely to be without defensive mainstays like Tino Livramento and Fabian Schar, whilst Bruno Guimaraes is a doubt, and the absence of Dan Burn leaves a significant void in their attacking set-pieces threat. PSG have their own concerns with Joao Neves and Achraf Hakimi facing late fitness tests, but their superior squad depth and home advantage give them the edge in this high-stakes battle for a top-eight finish.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Spurs (Weds 8pm)
Eintracht Frankfurt have struggled this Champions League campaign, managing just one victory in seven league phase matches, which was against Galatasaray. They currently sit in 33rd place with a disappointing goal difference of -9.
Tottenham Hotspur’s record in Europe this season stands in stark contrast. However, Frankfurt are also in a state of flux following the recent dismissal of Dino Toppmöller, and interim coach Dennis Schmitt has yet to see a performance upgrade, losing his first two matches in charge while conceding six goals in the process.
