Our 6 Scores Challenge Predictions
If you’re in need of some inspiration, here are our tips for the first week of 6 Scores Challenge matches. bet365’s Steve Freeth has also shared his predictions below.
6 Scores Challenge matches | Ant’s Predictions | Steve’s Predictions |
Brighton vs Fulham | 2-1 | 1-0 |
Sunderland vs West Ham | 2-1 | 1-1 |
Wolves vs Man City | 1-4 | 0-1 |
Nottm Forest vs Brentford | 2-0 | 1-1 |
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace | 2-2 | 1-0 |
Man Utd vs Arsenal | 1-2 | 2-2 |
Brighton vs Fulham
Brighton may have lost Joao Pedro this summer, but they should still be hopeful of taking all three points in front of a home crowd. Fulham have really struggled to bring in players during the summer break, and the potential departure of Rodrigo Muniz could signal the alarm bells if a suitable replacement isn’t found.
Our Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Fulham
Sunderland vs West Ham
Sunderland will be delighted that their long-awaited return to the top flight begins with a match in front of their passionate home fans. They have a great chance to pick up points too, with some seemingly shrewd summer signings bolstering the squad that earned them promotion. For West Ham, there must be concerns over how they’ll perform in the absence of Mohammed Kudus, with even more pressure piled onto the shoulders of Jarrod Bowen. Bowen himself may find the back of the net, but a bad result here would immediately put the spotlight on Graham Potter’s long-term future with The Hammers.
Our Prediction: Sunderland 2-1 West Ham
Wolves vs Man City
Vitor Pereira did an outstanding job of steering Wolves away from relegation trouble after joining in December, but the loss of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri means he’ll have to work miracles if they want to make a fast start this time round. Manchester City may not be the team they were in their prime, but Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and the aforementioned Ait-Nouri are all steps in the right direction, and nothing less than three points will be good enough here if they have genuine ambitions to regain the title they relinquished with barely a whimper.
Our Prediction: Wolves 1-4 Man City
Nottm Forest vs Brentford
Even the most ambitious Nottingham Forest fan surely can’t expect them to replicate last year’s achievements in the Premier League, particularly with the added workload of a European campaign to worry about. Fortunately for them, they’ll get started with a home fixture against Brentford. The Bees have lost their manager Thomas Frank, their main attacking force Bryan Mbuemo, their goalkeeper Mark Flekken and key defensive midfielder Christian Norgaard. Even Yoane Wissa seemingly wants out. A home win is surely on the cards here.
Our Prediction: Nottm Forest 2-0 Brentford
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
The Club World Cup winners face the FA Cup and Community Shield winners in what could be a much tighter encounter than some might expect. Crystal Palace have shown they can get results on the road, and often against teams supposedly better than them, with The Eagles nicking a point on both occasions that the teams met last season.
Our Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Crystal Palace
Man Utd vs Arsenal
A match that would have had us salivating some years ago now sees Arsenal strongly fancied against a Manchester United team struggling to mould themselves into the identity that Ruben Amorim craves. In Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal have finally secured the out-and-out striker they’ve needed for what feels like an age, and he can lead them to an important three points at Old Trafford. Yes, the signings of Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko will improve United, but Rome wasn’t built in a day, and it’ll be a lengthy process before we see them back as title contenders.
Our Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Arsenal
