The Curragh plays host to a quality eight-race card on Sunday with a couple of Group races, some ultra-competitive handicaps and a few informative maidens to look forward to. The card features the classy Diego Velazquez, who drops in grade for the Minstrel Stakes after contesting the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot last time.
With this in mind, now’s the perfect time to sign up with Tote if you’re planning to bet on day two of Curragh. New customers can claim £30 in free bets, which can be used on any of the horse races.
- Brand new sportsbook launched, offering far more than just horse racing
- Benefit from the unique Tote dividend as an alternative to normal fixed odds betting
As well as this strong sign up offer, there are two promotions that Tote are running for the horse racing taking place at Curragh.
Maximise your Curragh Day 2 odds with Tote Guarantee
Right now, the Tote Guarantee is one of the best offers for Curragh. It promises that any Win bet placed on their site will pay out no less than the official Starting Price (SP). And if the Tote dividend ends up higher than the SP, you’ll receive the bigger return, so you’re always backed by the best possible payout when your horse wins.
This deal is available to eligible customers both online and at select racecourses, making it a popular choice for headline events like Curragh.
Key Tote Guarantee T&Cs:
Tote always pay at least SP on Win bets and if the Tote dividend is greater, they’ll pay out at that price. Tote.co.uk, Tote.ie, Tote App and selected UK and Irish racecourse customers only. Promotion applies to Tote Win and win part of each way bets on all UK & Irish races. Limits apply. Full terms and conditions apply.

Sunday’s Curragh Betting tips
Our expert has picked out his best three bets on the card, including one in the feature race, one in the Group 3, and another in the handicap for fillies and mares on the card.
- 13:55 Curragh – Pink Oxalis @ SP with Tote
- 14:30 Curragh – Tasmania @ SP with Tote
- 15:40 Curragh – Room Service @ SP with Tote
13:55 Curragh – Pink Oxalis
There’s rain forecast at the Curragh that could potentially be quite heavy and one who would be suited by that in the mile handicap for fillies and mares is Pink Oxalis.
She produced a string of good efforts over seven furlongs at Dundalk during the winter before getting a deserved first win at the 12th attempt when upped to a mile at that venue in March.
The Stephen Thorne-trained four-year-old proved she had no problem with switching to turf when a comfortable four-length winner of a soft-ground mile handicap at Gowran in April, beating subsequent winner Declaree, who reopposes here.
She hasn’t been at her best the last twice, but she likely found the ground a bit quick back at Gowran next time, with the longer trip not helping matters either, and again looked to not stay 1m1f when weakening quickly late on at Leopardstown on her most recent start.
The return to a mile should help and a 2lb drop in the ratings for those efforts leaves her looking well treated if getting back to the level of form she showed at Gowran.

2.30 Curragh – Tasmania
The Al Shira’aa Racing Meadow Court Stakes was won by a British trainer last year and there is every chance that Sir Mark Prescott can make it another for the raiders this year with Tasmania.
Formerly trained in France by Francis Graffard, for whom she won two Listed races and placed in the Prix de Diane, the daughter of Australia has only made the track twice since moving to Britain in April 2024.
She was well beaten at this track in the Group 1 Pretty Polly on her stable debut after 267 days off the track in June last year and wasn’t seen again until making an eyecatching return in the Hoppings Fillies’ Stakes at Newcastle last month, when she travelled best and kept on well without being subjected to a hard ride.
She is highly regarded, as entries in the Nassau Stakes and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe would suggest, and she should take a big step forward from her reappearance, with her chances becoming even better the more rain that falls.

3.40 Curragh – Room Service
The class-dropping Diego Velazquez is the standout name in the Minstrel Stakes and he is likely to start favourite, but he was disappointing at Royal Ascot last time and isn’t sure to be suited by dropping back in trip, so he looks worth taking on.
This looks a good opportunity for Room Service, who has caught the eye on both of his starts this season since being upped to this trip.
He was held up in last and had to make his challenge away from the main action when a close fourth in the John of Gaunt on his reappearance before again finishing strongly on ground that would’ve been quicker than ideal in the Criterion Stakes at York last month.
His best form has come on soft ground, notably a defeat of subsequent Achilles Stakes winner Balmoral Lady in the Wentworth Stakes at Doncaster in November and a close second in a competitive York handicap off top weight that resulted in a career-best Racing Post Rating of 115.
That doesn’t put him far off the top in this field and he could have even more improvement to come over this trip on an easier surface. He’ll be suited even better by rain.
