The Nations Championship heads to Twickenham this weekend and one of the biggest ties sees England host Australia in a repeat of last year’s autumn opener.
It’s a fixture with a habit of producing drama, and the Wallabies will arrive with a point to prove after being beaten 25-7 at the same ground 12 months ago.

England vs Australia Betting Tips
England host Australia at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, on Sunday 8 November, with kick-off at 3.10pm. Check out our betting tips ahead of the big match.
England Should Win, but Australia Won’t Go Quietly
England go into the game as clear favourites, but this looks a more awkward assignment than the odds suggest. Steve Borthwick’s side lost to South Africa in July, though they scored 125 points across their three games, the most in the northern pool. The preparation has also been far from smooth. Alex Mitchell and Archie McParland are both ruled out, leaving a shortage at scrum-half. Tom Curry pulled out of training with a knock, and Fin Smith has been working through a calf problem.
Australia, meanwhile, arrive stronger than the side beaten 12 months ago. This Test sits inside World Rugby’s release window, so they have Taniela Tupou and Tom Hooper back, and fly-half Carter Gordon is also back in the squad after recovering from a fractured fibula.
England’s pack should give them control, which is why we’re backing the home win. But with the Wallabies’ improved squad and England’s disrupted preparation, we expect the margin to stay inside two scores.

Freeman Can Find Space on the Wing
Tommy Freeman is the pick of the try-scoring markets. He started all three Tests for the Lions in 2025 and is one of England’s most dangerous finishers, scoring against Wales and Italy in this year’s Six Nations. He spent much of 2026 at outside centre, but Steve Borthwick moved him back to the wing for England’s two wins over Fiji and Argentina in July
If England’s forwards dominate as expected, the ball should reach the backs in space. With Immanuel Feyi-Waboso expected on the opposite wing and likely to draw defenders his way, Freeman should find room on the right edge. Australia’s back line has also looked leaky, which suits a finisher like him.
With so many ways for England to cross the line, the price on Freeman is a fair reward for backing the wing most likely to be on the end of the move.
