England vs Senegal betting offers, predictions & line ups

Updated on

England take on Senegal on Tuesday 10th June at the City Ground and you can find all you need to know about this upcoming friendly right here.

The match may be a friendly but it has arguably gained added significance following England’s lethargic showing against Andorra last time out. Thomas Tuchel’s men ultimately came through the World Cup qualifier with a 1-0 win, but the manner of their victory will surely mean they’re desperate to sign off for the summer with a much-improved performance.

Where and when can I watch England vs Senegal?

England vs Senegal takes place at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on 10th June 2025 at 7.45pm. The change of venue from the usual Wembley Stadium means Forest will be hosting England in a full international for the first time since they beat Wales 4-1 in 1941.

Due to the venue change, tickets have been harder to come by, but you can watch the match for free as ITV1 will be screening the friendly on Tuesday evening.

In case the match does descend into another borefest, there’s plenty more football available to watch too. Amazon Prime will be showing both Finland vs Poland’s World Cup qualifier, and the friendly between Luxembourg and Republic of Ireland, whilst you can also follow Northern Ireland vs Iceland on BBC Two NI.

England vs Senegal predictions

Our betting expert has three England vs Senegal tips for Tuesday’s international friendly at the City Ground in Nottingham.

Senegal can cause England problems

England were poor against Andorra in their World Cup qualifier at the weekend, only scraping past the minnows 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from Harry Kane.

Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel was critical of his side, admitting their attitude was not right and even going as far to suggest his team didn’t take the game seriously.

Wholesale changes are expected to be made to give fringe players minutes and that lack of continuity in selection, while they also get used to Tuchel’s methods, could open the door for Senegal to get a positive result in Nottingham.

Going unbeaten in their last nine games, with seven wins and two draws, Senegal are in fine form ahead of this friendly at the City Ground.

Given England’s lacklustre performance against Andorra and the fact they are not playing in the familiar surroundings of Wembley this week, Senegal appeal in the double chance market here.

Goals at a premium by the Trent

Senegal’s recent run of good form has been largely down to a strong defensive foundation.

The Lions of Teranga have managed to keep seven clean sheets in their last eight outings and England are likely to find the visitors tough to break down on Tuesday night.

Having been frustrated for large spells of the game against Andorra in the final third, the Three Lions will face a sterner test against Senegal in this one.

Ollie Watkins pulled out of the squad before the win over Andorra due to a minor injury, while Bukayo Saka is a doubt for this game.

With limited options in the final third for England, this might well be a low-scoring affair at the City Ground.

Jackson to be a thorn in Three Lions’ side

With Sadio Mane missing for Senegal, there will be extra onus on Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson to be an attacking threat on Tuesday.

Scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in the Premier League in the campaign just gone, Jackson was an important figure in helping the Blues secure Champions League football for next season.

When it came to shots on target, Jackson was ranked 11th highest in the Premier League last season, with 35 efforts on goal.

Scoring his first Premier League goal from outside the box against Everton in April, Jackson has shown he can be a danger from range.

With that in mind, Jackson to score or assist, while also having a shot on target from outside the area, offers great value here.

England vs Senegal expected line-ups

Given the disappointment surrounding England’s showing against Andorra, we expect plenty of changes against Senegal. Dean Henderson is expected to be given a chance in goal, Myles Lewis-Skelly should be allowed the opportunity to push his claims as England’s future left-back, whilst the likes of Eberechi Eze and Anthony Gordon may be given minutes in more advanced roles.

For Senegal, ex-Liverpool man Sadio Mane will miss out due to personal reasons. But despite the absence of their talisman, there are still likely to be plenty of familiar faces on show. Crystal Palace’s Ismaïla Sarr is likely to feature in midfield, the Everton duo of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye may also make the Senegalese starting line-up, while Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson will hope to improve on an international record that has seen him score just once in 18 appearances.
