Fluminense vs Al Hilal predictions and betting tips
Orlando crowd in for the long haul
This is the quarter-final that nobody predicted. Fluminense were not expected to beat Inter Milan 2-0 in their last-16 tie, while Al Hilal’s stunning 4-3 extra-time victory over Manchester City was even more shocking.
But this is how the chips have landed and what this quarter-final clash represents is a glorious opportunity for one of these two teams to book their place in the last-four stage, where either Palmeiras or Chelsea await.
Given what is at stake, it would be no surprise to see a cagey affair between these two sides and there is the distinct possibility that extra-time and penalties may be required to determine the winner.
Therefore, backing the draw looks to be the smart play. Fluminense drew two of their group matches, against Borussia Dortmund and Mamelodi Sundowns, while Al Hilal held Real Madrid and Red Bull Salzburg in their section.
Al Hilal were also level at 2-2 against Manchester City in the last 16 before getting the job done in extra-time and this quarter-final tie could follow a similar path.

Goals to be in short supply
With a draw predicted between these two, the next selection is for there to be under 2.5 goals, a bet that has landed in three of Fluminense’s four Club World Cup matches.
The Brazilian outfit played out 0-0 draws against Dortmund and Sundowns in the group before registering a 2-0 victory over Champions League runners-up Inter Milan last time out.
While Al Hilal’s last-16 tie was a thrilling affair, their group games were less entertaining to watch, with there being less than three goals in all of those contests.
The Saudi Arabian side played out a 1-1 draw against Madrid, drew 0-0 against Salzburg and then defeated Pachuca 2-0, so the goals were not flowing before that triumph over the Citizens.
Both teams will be looking to keep things tight at the back and that could make for a cagey, low-scoring fixture in Orlando.
