Cardiff recently announced Aaron Ramsey as their caretaker manager, and the Welshman has a tough job ahead of him trying to help his boyhood club avoid relegation.
Cardiff have had a tough season, and recently the club parted company with Omer Riza and announced Aaron Ramsey as the caretaker, and we caught up with former England international Paul Parker, who shared his thoughts on that decision.
Parker warned Ramsey ahead of that challenge, as it can be tough to manage his boyhood club according to him.
‘It can be very difficult’
Surely, Aaron Ramsey will do everything in his power to help Cardiff stay up in the Premier League, but heroes coming back to their beloved club is not always ending up being a success, which has been proven multiple times.
Therefore, Parker thinks it will be a very difficult task for Ramsey to make Cardiff stay up.
“I am assuming that he does want to be a manager. Cardiff is his hometown club and he came back as a golden boy. He is never going to be a playing manager, because he is always injured. He was always injured at Arsenal as well.
“It is not always good to go to your hometown club and manage them. It can be very difficult. For him to do the job without any experience at all, I would expect the people around him to help him a lot. He is going to need that help.”
The Championship has always been a league which was decided by small margins, and Parker expects that to be the case as well this season.
“In that league, anything can happen. Everyone is focusing on what´s happening at the bottom of that league. It will be fine, fine margins, which will decide if Cardiff can stay up.”
