Scotland can keep French in sight
France are the firm favourites to claim the win in Saint Denis on Saturday and it’s hard to see Scotland putting in the 80-minute performance that would be required to topple Les Bleus on their own patch.
However, Scotland have been scoring plenty of tries in this Six Nations, with only France (26) scoring more than the Scots’ 15 tries after the first four rounds.
Scotland were denied a memorable victory in the last meeting between these sides at Murrayfield in controversial fashion, with the Scots appearing to ground the ball over the line with the last play of the game.
In the last three meetings between these sides, an average of 3.66 points has been the difference between the two teams.
Without the injured superstar Antoine Dupont at scrum-half, France won’t be at full strength and Scotland can make this game tighter than some might predict thanks to their ability to strike from range with a quality backline.

Bielle-Biarrey can strike first
A strong contender for player of the tournament this year, Louis Bielle-Biarrey has scored a remarkable seven tries already in the 2025 Six Nations, a French record.
With electric pace, that at times makes it appear as though the TV has switched to fast forward, and the ability to be in the right place at the right time, Bielle-Biarrey has made a habit of scoring the opening try in games this season.
Touching down for the opening try against both England and Ireland, there’s value to be had with backing Bordeaux winger Bielle-Biarrey to bag the opener against the Scots on Saturday night.

Jones can add to try collection
Having scored four tries in this year’s Six Nations, Scotland’s outside centre Huw Jones’ tally has only been surpassed by Bielle-Biarrey.
Jones bagged himself a hat-trick in the opening game and scored another try against England to further boost his hopes of making the British & Irish Lions tour to Australia this summer.
The Glasgow Warriors star has impressed in games against the French in the past, scoring three tries previously against Les Bleus.
On the back of his strong form in this Six Nations, Jones is a player who is certainly worth considering in the anytime tryscorer market.
