Efficient Eagles unlikely to slip up
Crystal Palace won the first leg of their Conference League play-off tie against Fredrikstad by a 1-0 scoreline at Selhurst Park last week.
Palace’s margin of victory did not reflect the gulf in class between the teams and they should be backed to win to nil on Thursday’s trip to Norway.
Fredrikstad, beaten 5-1 on aggregate by Midtjylland in Europa League qualifying earlier this month, defended doggedly in south London but failed to register a shot on target.
Palace have made a solid start to the season, beating Liverpool on penalties to win the Community Shield before a goalless Premier League stalemate at Chelsea and a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
They racked up 25 attempts at goal in the first leg and should seal their place in the Conference League proper with a controlled performance and a victory to nil on Thursday.
- Fredrikstad vs Crystal Palace tip 1: Crystal Palace to win to nil @ 11/10

Slick Sarr could unlock home defence
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the first European goal in Palace’s history in the first leg but winger Ismaila Sarr is a tempting bet to break the deadlock in Norway.
Eberechi Eze’s departure to Arsenal means Sarr must kick on after a promising first season at the club in which he scored eight goals in the Premier League and three during Palace’s triumphant FA Cup run.
The Senegal international has started the new campaign with goals against champions Liverpool in the Community Shield and Forest in the league.
Sarr’s first-half header forced young Fredrikstad goalkeeper Martin Borsheim into a good save last week and he should pose a serious threat to the underdogs once again.
- Fredrikstad vs Crystal Palace tip 2: Ismaila Sarr to be first goalscorer @ 6/1

Wing-back Munoz may inspire Eagles
After a slow start to the 2024-25 season, Palace developed into an ultra-consistent unit under Oliver Glasner and it is hard to see them slipping up in the second leg.
The prize of a maiden European campaign means Glasner will take no chances with his team selection and Palace should have won the home leg by more than one goal.
Fredrikstad are tenth in the Eliteserien, mustering only 23 goals in 18 matches this term, so a low-scoring contest is expected on their artificial pitch.
Under 3.5 goals looks a solid Bet Builder selection, although one player who could find the net is influential Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz.
With the hosts likely to defend in numbers, Munoz will be an important attacking weapon for the Eagles and he came close to a goal in the first leg, hitting the outside of the post with a header.
- Fredrikstad vs Crystal Palace tip 3: Bet Builder – Crystal Palace to win, under 3.5 goals & Daniel Munoz to score @ 11/1
