In-form Eagles flying high

Only Liverpool and Brighton have collected better results than Crystal Palace in the Premier League over the last five games. The Eagles are up to 12th in the table and their recent good run has been built around an impressive away record.

Oliver Glasner’s men have won each of their last five away games, all by the same scoreline (2-0) including a win over Fulham at Craven Cottage in late February.

Palace also have a good head-to-head record against their opponents at the Cottage, with the Eagles unbeaten in the last six away days by the Thames.

One of the big factors in the turnaround in their form has been the return to fitness of key players over the last couple of months.

Eberechi Eze has had a consistent run of games since mid-February, while Adam Wharton is making a big impact again after a groin injury keeping him out for three months.

Fulham have drawn nine of their 29 league games this term and needed penalties to see off Manchester United in the last round, after another level scoreline following 90 minutes.

Sarr in a player to watch

A lot of the goal-scoring pressure has been on Jean-Phillipe Mateta, with the Frenchman being Palace’s leading scorer with 12 goals to his name.

Mateta is set to return following his ear injury, suffered in the last round against Millwall, and will further strengthen the Eagles forward line. Another player who has stepped up over recent months is Ismaila Sarr, who is now on eight goals in all competitions.

The former Watford man has found the net three times in the last three games, including the winner over Ipswich last time out and can continue his good scoring run.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace Tip 2: Anytime Goalscorer – Ismaila Sarr @ 15/4 with bet365

Tight encounter looks likely

It’s worth noting that none of their last four meetings between the two sides have had over 2.5 goals, while all of Fulham’s last 10 games have had under 3.5 goals.

Prior to this season’s fixtures, four of the last five head-to-heads have finished in a draw, indicating just how evenly matched these two teams have been. These two teams share top-spot in the player yellow card stats, with Will Hughes and Sasa Lukic both racking up 10 cautions each.

Jefferson Lerma is a regular in the referee’s notebook and the midfielder could well add to his six yellow cards this season.

Set-pieces could be crucial in what seems likely to be a tight cup-tie and the stats suggest the two teams could land in the 6-8 corner tally. Fulham, ranked eighth in the Premier League, average just over five corners per game and Palace have averaged 4.75 corners per league match.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace Tip 3: Bet Builder – Under 3.5 Goals / Jefferson Lerma to be booked / Total Corners 6-8 @ 12/1 with bet365
