Hosts fancied to win end-to-end affair
An entertaining contest is expected as Germany, looking to reach the Nations League final for the first time, take on the inaugural winners of this event, Portugal.
A Selecao das Quinas have struggled on the road in the current Nations League, drawing at Scotland and Croatia in the group stage before losing the first leg of their quarter-final in Denmark.
Roberto Martinez’s side managed to overturn the deficit in the reverse fixture to reach the semi-finals, but their away form is a concern, particularly when visiting a Germany side who are firing on all cylinders.
Julian Nagelsmann’s men have lost just once in the last 18 months and that was an extra-time defeat against Spain in Euro 2024, a competition La Roja went on to win.
Die Mannschaft secured convincing home victories over Hungary and Bosnia in the Nations League group stage, winning 5-0 and 7-0 respectively, while they edged out Italy 5-4 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.
Germany have won the last five meetings against Portugal and are fancied to extend that run, particularly on home soil.
However, the attacking threat that Portugal pose should not be underestimated. Both teams have found the net in six of their last eight outings and a repeat of that is fancied in this clash, although Germany are fancied to come out on top.

Wirtz to shine
Florian Wirtz has been at the centre of a transfer saga already this summer, with a move to Liverpool or Bayern Munich reportedly on the cards.
The youngster has been impressive for Germany in this Nations League campaign and looks a tempting price to show his potential suitors what they would be missing if he signed for someone else.
Wirtz has three goals in five Nations League starts and looks a solid price to add to that tally for this free-flowing German team.

Palhinha could catch referee’s attention
A number of Portugal’s midfielders were involved in Paris Saint Germain’s Champions League win at the weekend and so may not be available to feature heavily in this clash.
Joao Palhinha could be the beneficiary and looks a tempting price to pick up a card as a result. The midfielder featured sparingly for Bayern this season but he still managed to pick up two yellows and a red.
Germany’s home games have been extremely entertaining since the conclusion of Euro 2024, with a total of 19 goals scored across the four matches, and this contest looks likely to go over 2.5 goals.
There has been plenty of speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future but the veteran is still featuring prominently for his country and has averaged 4.88 shots per 90 minutes in this Nations League campaign so far, he should have at least three efforts at goal in Munich.
