Tour Championship 2025 betting tips
Scottie Scheffler could become the first repeat FedEx Cup champion since the series began in 2007, but the odds about golf’s most reliable ball‑striker are short and there may be greater value among an elite list of other previous winners such as Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Viktor Hovland.
Scheffler’s win at last week’s BMW Championship was his fifth of the year and he enters this week top of the FedEx standings, but unlike previous editions, there are no starting strokes this time, meaning all 30 qualifiers begin at level-par in a traditional 72-hole shootout.

- Rory McIlroy to win @ 15/2 with talkSPORT Bet
- Cameron Young to win and each-way @ 30/1 with bet365
Scheffler’s ball-striking still unmatched
Scheffler heads back to East Lake having led the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee‑to‑green by a historic margin for the second straight year. His dominance in this department, allied to a hot putter, have seen him record consecutive top-10 finishes in his last 13 worldwide starts.
He squandered a commanding advantage on the Sunday of this event in 2022 when a cold putter cost him the FedEx Cup, but with improved consistency this summer under putting coach Philip Kenyon, the world number one looks much better equipped to finally convert.
East Lake rewards patience and precision off the tee, and Scheffler’s been operating in a different stratosphere in those categories. He will take some serious stopping if his putter stays hot throughout the week, too.

McIlroy can make his mark
McIlroy has won this event three times and posted the lowest 72-hole score at East Lake on just as many occasions.
While his form dipped after a three-week break, he remains one of the longest hitters on tour and thrives on demanding layouts.
The Northern Irishman has three wins this season, including the Masters, and will relish the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with Scheffler without a handicap disadvantage.
If he finds rhythm early, he could be the one to watch.

Young blood on the rise
Cameron Young, fresh off his maiden PGA Tour win at the Wyndham Championship, will be one to watch at longer odds.
Young clinched that victory in North Carolina by six strokes and the New Yorker’s aggressive style suits East Lake’s risk-reward setup.
Five of the 28-year-old’s last eight rounds have come in at 65 or under and only one has been over par – a 71 – illustrating his rising form.
