Inter vs Arsenal Betting Tips
Our betting expert has three Inter vs Arsenal tips for Tuesday, January 20 in the Champions League league phase at San Siro (kick-off 8pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.
- Inter to win @ 9/5
- Match goals range: 1-2 goals @ 1/1
- Bet builder – Lautaro Martinez to score, Myles Lewis-Skelly to be booked @ 9/1
Inter can end Arsenal’s 100 per cent record
Arsenal’s perfect start in the Champions League means they are almost assured of a top-eight place in the league phase whatever happens in their last two fixtures and losing a tough away match at Inter would not be too harmful.
The Gunners have won six from six in this competition, beating Olympiakos, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich at home and Athletic Bilbao, Slavia Prague and Club Brugge on the road, but this is their most difficult away test so far.
Inter lead the Serie A standings by three points after their 1-0 win at Udinese on Saturday and they have taken 19 points from a possible 21 since being beaten 1-0 at home by Liverpool in this competition in December.
Cristian Chivu’s side have lost two in a row in the league phase but look worth backing as the underdogs at home for the visit of the Premier League side.
Arsenal have not lost in 11 matches but their latest performances have not seen them at their scintillating best with 3-2 away wins over Bournemouth and Chelsea and a pair of goalless draws with Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in their last four outings.
With a seven-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may not feel the pressure to take his foot off the gas for this high-profile fixture, but Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are among the candidates to be rested if he decides to make changes.
Inter, Champions League runners-up in two of the last three seasons, are sixth in the standings and still in position to qualify for the last eight, but with Arsenal at home and Borussia Dortmund away as their final two fixtures their need for the points is far greater than their visitors’.

Cagey contest likely at San Siro
Arsenal have conceded just one goal in six Champions League matches this season – to Lennart Karl of Bayern Munich at the Emirates in November – and Inter have the second-best defensive record in the competition with only four goals conceded.
The Italian side kept clean sheets in their first three European encounters this season and have conceded only eight goals in 11 home Serie A matches.
After shutting out Parma, Lecce and Udinese in recent outings, along with a 2-2 draw against champions Napoli, the Inter defence are capable of keeping things tight against Arsenal and a match with either one or two goals would be no surprise.

Martinez a major threat to Gunners
Inter’s Lautaro Martinez finished fifth in the Champions League top-scorer list last season with nine goals from only 857 minutes of playing time and he is joint-seventh this term with four goals in five games.
The Argentinian striker is clear in the Serie top marksman list with 11 in 21 games and showed he remains in top form with the winning goal in Saturday’s league win at Udinese.
He looks the most likely candidate to breach the Arsenal defence and is worth combining in a bet builder wager with Gunners defender Myles Lewis-Skelly to be shown a yellow card
Lewis-Skelly started the season in relatively restrained fashion with only one caution in his first 11 appearances, but he has drawn more attention from referees in his recent outings and has been booked four times in his last 12 games, with four of his five cards this season picked up in away fixtures.
